Ok so I am really going to miss this event by like one day or so... Im going back to the US for work after they have sooo generously given me a new visa (hey Im a blonde, blue-eyed PhD but I still may be really bad person...whatever). I wish I was able to stay in Europe for the viewing and the con but "she who is inferior" must obey custom laws and return.... So, in order to confuse and disorganise (not that hard really) the American Authorities I would like to request a viewing of the movie in WASHINGTON DC (OK, I KNOW there are a bunch of you out there from MD... havent heard that much from VA or WV...). I even have a place in mind: the AFI in Silver Spring... Check it out and let me know what ya'all think.
And, btw, I have only watched about half a season of SGA (after finding Mr McG on SGF...) but I did find out ALL about this weeks ep. Im really not happy about it at all..... not at all...

I can honestly agree with borg teddy there. Once the site acme back up, it took the time for me to frantically type (retype) my details and buy for it all to be sold out.
Luckily we got in under the bar and have tickets. But it was frantic! I don't think I've hit F5 so much in my life. |

Yes, I was trying to get a ticket and was rather shocked that it went so quickly!
I hope you do secure another location but I appreciate that it can't be easy and that London isn't cheap either - pls let Jane know that I thought she found a terrific location.

Congrats! I'm jealous of all the UK fans that can make it. Here's crossing my fingers for a New York City screening -- and hey, one positive thing about New York City is I'm pretty sure if you go through New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and promise an educational Q&A, they won't make you pay (or won't make you pay much) for the venue. (Yes, I'm the NYU student who contacted you earlier about a screening.)

The only problem is that a whole lot of us who had previously received confirmation of tickets from Wolf have just received notification that they have oversold and have had ticket confirmation withdrawn

Cor. I'm a bit sad for those that missed out - and a bit worried about those tickets that seem to be being revoked! *checks inbox* Nope. Still got a confirmation. I was in no way suprised by the website crashing - I sort of expected it Didn't stop the nail-biting though. It wsa funny. A near success about 8.05pm, and then the website crashed just before confirmation. Then 40 minutes of constant refreshing. Then it went through easy as pie. I suppose the twenty minutes of frantic buying was about 8.40 to 9.00pm, right?
I'm not surprised it sold out - 120 tickets isn't that many! I conservatively estimated that about half the Peg 2 con people would be able to make it, which would make it about, what, 200 or so chaps and chapesses going for 120 tickets? It's no wonder there was a bit of a crush!

I'm not surprised. I think you underestimate the number of people who desperately want to see this movie. Hopefully this will prove to distributers/venues that you can handle a much larger crowd than that, and that many more screenings are needed. |

i have just thought... the Forbiden Planet sci fi shop is only a couple of doors down from the cinema..... they'll get a bit of a shock on the 1st of feb when 120 scifi fans turn up early and wnat to kill some time. P.S I work just across the road from the cinema so know the area pretty well... so if any one wants a recomendation for a good bar or resterant to have dinner in let me know! |

Me and my mate are rather proud of being part of the crashing of the wolf *cackles evilly* I can't believe that I managed to get all 5 of the tickets that we needed.
I was shaking for the whole time that the site was down.
