Death in doggie bowl
Death in doggie bowl
We’re shedding the old beta-dGeek.com moniker and heading into full mutt-movie-marketing-mode! So, welcome all to www.ADOGSBREAKFASTMOVIE.com!

Stargate Atlantis season 3 wraps up at the end of next week. It is amazing how fast it has gone and how much has happened in those nine months of shooting in glorious Vangroovey.

SGA and SG1’s cast and crew party was last night, but sadly this tired little McKay was curling up with Jane, hot lemon and cold remedies instead. With the party happening before we finish shooting I just can’t risk a hoarse McKay come Monday morning. Certainly not with four more days of shooting (and talking) to go! Friday was bad enough, with visitors actually offering their condolences on my frustration at just not being able to say the words rattling around my flu-addled mind… and that was when it was just setting in! Plague-boy strikes again…it seems to happen at the end of every season. At least this year I’m not “floating” around in a space suit… though there sure are some nasty explosions that end up… nice try! I’ve not had THAT many Neo Citrons (A fine Canadian hot lemon cold remedy)!

Speaking of things I can’t speak about. There are rumors all over the web, and I’m getting frantic emails about all sorts of things - some very wrong, and some very true. Here’s the thing – When I was in junior school Jeff Black (name changed to protect the moron) went and saw “The Empire Strikes Back” at a press screening that his stupid mother got him into. He showed up at school that next Monday and decided to tell everyone that “Darth Vader was Luke’s father”. I was crushed. I knew that I was going to see the movie. I knew that knowing the truth wasn’t going to stop me from going. But I felt so ripped off that this jerk had taken that discovery away from me. Point being, I’m not going to be spoiling next season (or any other for that matter) by giving away the good stuff. Some people are saying that because nobody has confirmed or denied various reports, they must be true. Really? Is that how it works? Come on! By all means enjoy the speculation and then settle down and watch a good movie (like “A Dog’s Breakfast”) and hunker down for the Season to start up again. Sorry, but you’re not getting anything more from me!

In a strange scheduling shuffle I will be shooting my last day this Thursday, not on SGA but on SG1! This means that I may have the dubious honor of being in on the last shooting day of SG1 the series. At least it’s with Amanda… always a great way to end a season… or begin or middle one, for that matter! I’m still convinced that somebody is going to realize that we’re about to lose the greatest Sci Fi series ever and snap it up for a season 11, but I’m a suck! Still, I’m dying to see what they have planned for the movies, if that’s the way it ends up going. Maybe I can weasel McKay into a fancy SG1 movie role and give James Spader a run for his money… actually I’d really like his money.

As of Friday we’re going to be concentrating on the promotion and distribution stage of our grand “A Dog’s Breakfast” experiment. Copies of the movie are out to a number of distributors as I write this, and we’ve arranged meetings down in Los Angeles to talk to some of them about how they would get our “puppy” out into the world. We’ve had a number of kind offers for publicity via the website which I am very grateful for and we’re following up on. If you’ve got any other ideas, let us know! The film is effectively a funny, family, murder film, a little known genre that we’ve dubbed “AirBud with an axe”. (Jane is terribly clever that way). We are obviously hoping to make the most of you rabid Stargate/Hewlett fans out there, but are very keen to help the film move beyond the sci-fi world and into the mainstream. We’re hoping to accomplish this by targeting all those (hopefully non-rabid) pet owners out there. Especially those who are intelligent, kind, and foolish enough to adopt some crazed canine like our mutt, Mars. So, if you’ve got any ideas or connections with film festivals, magazines, TV, Newspapers (local, national and international) let us know!

Cheers, here’s to Season 4! D!

I can't wait until A Dog's Breakfast gets released in some form or another (hopefully DVD!), so that I can introduce my sci-fi-phobic friends to the genius that is David Hewlett.
I'm going to pop off now and request a showing in my lovely li'l town! :grin

This was a great post; congratulations on wrapping up the shooting and I hope the meetings with distributors were all that you hoped for.

I was sitting at my desk, catching up on yesterday's news and heard a story that reminded me that in a previous incarnation of this blog, you were looking for clever/odd/funny stories about dogs. Check this out, then. Duuuuuuude.

What a great nick-name for a great city! I can't believe that in the whole year I lived there no-one came up with that one. SG1 were shooting S2 in my neighbourhood one day andI'll never forgive them for taking over Hamburger Mary's...

Am assuming you're feeling much better now so don't need a get well soon. Though I hope you didn't generously pass your germs onto to Jane!

David, hope you're "all better now" and able to enjoy a great feast today! Do we really have to wait until March for the second half of S3? If so, grrrr! Mars, growl and bare your teeth at whoever is responsible for that idea! Love this site, and look forward to seeing ADB in east central Iowa!

I've been watching SG1 since the movie, and I've never missed an episode. Both my partner and I have been to the first ever GateCo with the cast of SG1; held in Vancouver. We will miss the show! I hope Amanda and Claudia will join the cast of SGA.

Oh, no spoilers? lol Too bad. I'm horrible when it comes to spoilers... gives me some weird sense of power over everyone else even though everyone else doesn't care. :roll In any case, I do hope you are feeling better, though a hoarse McKay would probably be sorta sexy...Um, never mind. :D

*sigh* Well, back to waiting for six-month hiatus to end. Thanks for the wee update, David. And whoot! on being in the last episode of SG-1! :D
hmmmnnn...
Written by nomidalantian on 2006-10-09 10:51:55
I'm betting you're probably better by now, so I cant do the whole 'get well' thingy...

I think I speak for everyone when I say you aren't the only one who wants James Spader's money...

Oh and I know what it feels like to have SOMEONE *cough*my stupid older brother*cough* ruin everything you see or read...not that i read all that much, but I do like to read... they all know me down at the library but anyway no-one asked that did they? Hmmnn.... I feel like saying something else but I can't think what to say...

oh I got it!
I hope that you get a Gigantimous part in a Stargate film... Well I also hope that I get a part in a film... I got a callback on my first one though WHOOP WHOOP! I'm gonna go now cuz I'm making a complete arse of myself

peace :p :grin
Will a cat person love this movie?
Written by classic on 2006-10-07 07:57:26
I'm really a cat person (mine's sitting on the keyboard right now as I attempt to type), but will I love this movie anyway?

I love the idea that someone had of promoting it at colleges - it's been a while since I went (to college) and I know everything's on-line these days, but I would think this would be a perfect venue, although not as much $$.

And have you checked out the Tribeca Film Festival, the one started by DeNiro in NYC a few years ago. It's becoming huge and it would also give me a chance to meet you since you don't seem to come to cons out this way, hint, hint. ;)

There are also many "small" theaters that don't have the connections with the huge conglomerates like Loews, etc. There's one in the town next to me that shows querky, non-main stream films. I think that kind of thing would be perfect. I might go check it out.

On a totally different note, how cool for you that McKay is on what is probably the last episode of SG-1. (Although you said it was the last day of filming, you didn't say it was the last ep to air, but I assumed it). I've always loved the character and the interaction between McKay and Carter. I guess I relate to McKay because I also can be totally sarcastic, obnoxious, and absolutely brilliant, while at the same time, incredibly modest. :roll

Hope by now you're feeling better - I actually wrote down some of the flu cures in the blog comments. I especially like the vodka/lemon juice one!
Nice update
Written by stargateSG147 on 2006-10-06 16:14:10
Aw, I liked dgeek.com better but oh well.... Aw, hope you feel better soon David! Can't have McKay NOT be on an Atlantis ep!!
*faints at the thought*
Alright, I'm a little dramtic.

Just keep up with that NeoCitron and you'll be good...... well McKay would be dead but you know what I mean.

(Hm I don't think we have NeoCitron where I live. I want some!)

I absolutely cannot wait until A Dog's Breakfast comes out!
I have decided that I don't care if my mom wants to see it or not (she hates thrillers so therefore I have never seen one but I like the general genre.) I will make sure we see A Dog's Breakfast!!!!!

yay.
Aw, I like spoilers!
Pleeeeeeease??

It's too bad you can't tie some marketing in with the big pet store chains by marketing that a rescued dog is the *star* of the movie and find a way to get some flyers or something for it in places like Petsmart.

Dang, the darned machine logged me off before I could post. New strategy: run this through Word so that 1.) spelling is perfect and 2.) it actually WORKS this time!

I must say, I think I know how you feel. Every year come January I come down with what I have dubbed “animator’s disease”, an illness contracted through the sharing of a keyboard during the six-week building and prep season for my school’s F.I.R.S.T. robotics team. These change yearly, ranging from a simple-but-loathsome sinus infection to things much, much worse (details not suitable for public discussion…). The doctors tell me I don’t need a flu shot every year, but I always manage to prove them wrong, much to my dismay and discomfort.

As far as ADB goes (and that’s pretty dang far in my book!), I’m enthused and trying to get my school friends on the same level of enthusiasm. I’m doing my best to spread the word, even going as far as planning a meeting with the head of school to request that flyers be put up around campus (seriously, my school is so canine-oriented that teachers bring their dogs to class at least once a month). I wish I could do so much more than what is in my power to do, but the best is the best, and brilliant ideas come slowly to me. Of course, we all know: never rush genius! ;)

As for SG-1, would I be considered a “bad fan” if half of me has made peace with the idea of the weekly series’ end? Believe me when I say that I dislike it as much as the next person (or in my case, everyone who commented before me…), but the movie idea sounds cool! I mean, who didn’t like “Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars” to some extent?

Lastly, I’m proud to be spoiler-free. I much prefer getting the initial shock upon watching the actual episodes in all their radiant glory. Having the story given away is my biggest pet peeve! Somebody actually spoiled the end of the fourth Harry Potter book for me when it first came out, but I somehow managed to keep the unpleasant knowledge inside until after my family and I had reached the part (we all read together. My dad reads aloud and puts on voices; it’s hilarious :grin ).

I send my best wishes, good luck in the distributor search and what precious little immunity I can extend over the internet (which wouldn’t be much to begin with, given what little I have at all).

Get Well Soon
Written by San5000 on 2006-10-04 15:21:41
Having followed Stargate SG-1 from the beginning, I am still in denial, hoping the cavalry will come charging over the hill at the last moment with a wagon full of cash and scripts. I enjoyed all the crossovers, even though I had some trepidation that my fav characters in one show would be pushed aside by those from the other. If not a new series then I do hope we get films with everyone reprising their roles from BOTH series :-D

As for A Dog's Breakfast...I am really hoping that I will have the chance to see this film as, from the description and from that short clip, it looked a lot of fun. Certainly has the dry, black humour that I adore.

Hope you are feeling much better and are well enough to enjoy the last few days of shooting on both sets.
Take care
Written by kamelion on 2006-10-04 07:06:06
'Tis the season for rampant unforgiving illness. Spreading like wildfire down here.

Getting more and more excited about the movie. Best I can do where I am is advertise in the local pet stores, having worked in that business for several years. Other than that I know a local tv meteorologist, so I could ask him to throw in a blurb in a "raining cats and dogs" sort of way. :)

Wrapping is ending on Stargate...WOW. And Sg1, that's just odd to think about. Hoping they sort this whole thing out, I'd love to see some movies. I have a feeling they might actually be able to expand more in a movie format than in a series, willing to take more risks. Curious to know what you think about the possibility of the Devlin movies being made.

Take care of yourself! Hot toddys do wonders...

Well I am really looking forward to season 3 for SGA! And I'm very much hoping that A Dog's Breakfast will make it to Indiana...if not...well I've been needing a good excuse for a road trip somewhere...so then I can see it! Hee hee. Have a good one!

Darth Vader Is Luke Skywalker's Father!
Written by Ångie on 2006-10-03 15:40:33
Thanks David, thanks alot.......

Heehee, I don't actually go looking for spoilers, I usually happen upon them in blogs and things like this. I try not to go poking around Gateworld.com too much either, which is, I am sure, where spoilers are born.

It's funny you should mention that moron that spoiled Empire for you, I just happened to buy a copy of "Cube" the other day and my 10 year old daughter proudly informed me that she had already seen it. I know, there is a whole new batch of issues right there.

However, The Girl, knowing what a great fan I am of you, proceeded to systematically and, I believe, in a single breath (she could give McKay a run for his money) explain to me exactly what happens to your character.

She was very happy with not only the fact that she ruined it for me but that she even had the courage to watch a film that her mother has yet to brave.

Ångie is not big on horror.

But Hey!!! Go "Dog's breakfast" Go!! :grin
Hmm, students are an excellent resource
Written by Angelicalangie on 2006-10-03 11:48:17
It may be the worlds daftest idea, but students, we love free or really cheap things. A prjector and screeen, readily found in universities and colleges (not to mention shools) would be enough to have 'test audiences' the more people you have say wow its good helps. Also blair witch had some outrageous web based advertising. The fact tht you tube is showing your stuff helps a lot. But how about google video and Yahoo as well, that is free also (I think on terms of barely costing to no cost, see student!)

by the way Croydon, Surrey would e an awesome place for a greater London Screening!
Missing McKay
Written by crazy4dh on 2006-10-03 10:32:17
I can't believe they halted Atlantis midseason for BattleStar Galactica!! I like the show okay, but I am now officially in McKay withdrawal. Just when it was getting bad Friday night I'm watching old Without A Trace "Hawks and Handsaws" ep and who is the guest star bad guy --- David Hewlett!!!!! Got a short fix.
Hopefully A Dog's Breakfast will make it to Louisville Kentucky.
And maybe we'll get you in some conventions in the US. Never been to one, but I'd try my darndest to make it if you were there.
Can't wait for Season 3 to resume!!!!
German Film Festivals
Written by HelmutDarling on 2006-10-03 09:29:13
Huh, I never go to them, they're far too *highbrow* - at least they believe themselves to be. But I'm going to start looking around for a place for A Dog's Breakfast. I know this is probably too far away for you, but don't knock it til you've tried it. And many Germans love the humor of Monty Python's Flying Circus, for instance, so I believe your movie could do very well over here.

In other news, hope you are feeling better by now. Much better!

Thanks for your words about the rumors. Someone once spoiled the end of Xenafor me, and I haven't bothered watching that. I just didn't want to see it.

All the best to you, Jane and the mutt

Can't you dispel the "Beckett dying" rumors?!?!?!
Written by Gebo on 2006-10-03 04:36:50
Hope you are feeling better. Flu is a pain in the ass. Not literally but you know what I mean. :roll

Great update but I needed surgery after typing in the new moniker. Finger twisting fun! Hey! That's sounds like a new game. :eek

Is it really flu or a man-cold?
Written by taywolf on 2006-10-03 04:07:39
Men get a much more severe form of the cold than women, or so they tell us. They tell everybody that it is the flu and that they are dying. It may be the cynic in me but.... :) :grin

REPEAT AFTER ME - EDINBURGH FESTIVAL = GOOD IDEA! BRING A STUFFED DOG THAT LOOKS LIKE MARS AND WE WILL BE HAPPY.

I had a demonic intestinal flu last week, which has thankfully finally gone away. I really do hope you're feeling better soon, and that you'll have a little down time before the inevitable next project between SGA seasons. Can't wait to see what's coming up next for ADB.
Written by MdGateFan on 2006-10-02 22:04:30
Thanks for the update.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well.

I am glad to hear(reed?)that McKay be in the last episode of SG-1. And yes, it would be very nice to see McKay in a SG-1 movie.

And I agree with your comments concerning the spoilers running around on the web. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I'm sorry to hear that you once again have managed to catch the flu. I loved that "Plague-boy strikes again" comment. I think I have only officially had the flu a handful times in my life, although I get colds often with severe allergies. According to my doctor, I should move to Canada. :grin

You are evil to tease us about the "nasty explosions" to come. That just fuels my desire to see the second half of the season even more.
It is sad about SG1. I am going to miss the show terribly. :sigh
Written by RankNFiled on 2006-10-02 21:39:48
Sorry to hear you're sick again, that's never fun, especially when you have so much to do.
Thank you for the update, and if I can find a theater in my area that plays anything beside the big blockbusters (which are mostly lame to my way of thinking) then I will do everything I can to get them interested in ADG.
Take care of yourself, and hope you feel better soon.
Written by Trialia on 2006-10-02 19:30:37
lol... so I'm one of the spoiler-whores out there. Can you blame me for enjoying speculation? Torri's said some pretty intriguing things about the second half of the season, and after all one must plan the annoying questions for the conventions... :grin I do try not to spoil people who don't want to be spoiled, though.

You have the flu too, huh? My stepmother's in the middle of it, and I can feel it starting to hit me as well... which is just PERFECT considering I'm in one of the groups the NHS considers at-risk (asthma sufferer) and due my flu jab this month. Argh! But even if I get the jab I seem to get the flu at least once a year anyway. Do they sell Buttercup Syrup over in Canada? If it is available to you, I highly recommend it - doesn't get rid of the flu in its entirety, but it'll kick the sore throat in the head, no pun intended. :)

Moi? Je suis mal, aussi.

Um, for the throat? Our "lead" vocalist in the school musical came down with Maritian Death Flu the last night of the performance a couple of years ago and he "liberated" the Buckley's from my desk drawer (for my bronchitis) and he went from soundling like a 90 year old three-pack a day smoker to his lovely, tenor singing self.

It tastes like crap, but it works.

Hrm. What about doing something with an animal society -- from Death Row to Movie Star? You could promote one another.

Oh dear, I was wondering if you were going to get sick this year. I'm so sorry it happened again.

Is it really the flu? It's a bit early in the season for the flu, at least in the States. My doctor told me that most people come down with the flu later in the year. That's why now's the time to get a flu shot so you can build up the antibodies. I get the flu shot and I haven't gotten the flu since. It used to take me about a month to fully recover. I also seemed to be one of the last to come down with it, so any possible sympathy for my condition would have long since run out.

Since you seem to get sick so early in the season, it might not be one of the flu strains the shot is designed for.

Rest up before you throw yourself into promoting A Dog's Breakfast. I know you've said how much you enjoyed researching that part of the business, but please take care of yourself first.

Thanks for such an informative update! I hope you're much better very soon. Lots of good news in this post. If you're looking to start some internet buzz for ADB, there's film reviewer Harry Knowles over at aintitcoolnews.com, but that can really be a double edged sword. A good buzz from him can really boost a film, but the reverse is also true. Check wikipedia.org's entry on the site for some of the pros and cons of being under aicn's radar.
Written by jessie on 2006-10-02 16:41:57
One, thank you for not spoiling me. This is the first show since Buffy that I've actively *avoided* spoilers because the episodes end up so fantastic that I don't need them. Yay for that. Seriously.

Two, rumors. Bah to them. See point one.

Three, I was Dragon*Con and was so amused by the way the cast were expressing their hope for more endeavors in the SG-1 world. Granted, I'm kinda new to the series (what, SGA has been my tie-in during this season) but I enjoy it, and I really, really hope the movies that Don was talking about comes about. I think it'd be fascinating. So many stones unturned and all that. If I can't get a proper season to wrap up (lemme guess, Sci-Fi learned from Levin on what to do to annoy the fanbases), then the movies would a good idea. And I must say, it's really nice to hear you want it too. Personally, I really liked McKay on SG-1, the arrogant prick deal. It's nice shades of McKay to the SGA growth.

Four, thank you for at least letting dgeek park to this domain. It's nice to be able to keep my long list of addresses one shorter on Foxfire.

Five, (last one, I promise!) I can't wait to see ADB. I do love quirky movies. (Would this be the time to tell you I've never seen AirBud, not even on Disney?) Almost as much as I'm waiting six months (insert put-upon sigh) for the rest of S3. Finally, I hope you get better, honey. Just so you don't strain yourself out to the point you become even worse. That only leads to cranky people, and I'm afraid Jane doesn't deserve that. ;) Honey and lemon always made my throat less raw. I think vinegar was supposed to be a part of that but my family knows better than to give me that. Feel better soon.

Sorry to hear that you've got the flu, maybe that helps.
When I was a child my Mom always gave me this really old houserecipe. You put two halfs of an onion and some candis into a glas close it and wait a night. The next morning ther'll be some sirup on the ground. One Spoon full three times a day heals everything and it tastes wonderfull (but thats just me everyone else hates the taste of it :? ).

The CB spoiler are kinda scary but I hope for a wedding that would also fit to most of the spoilers.
That guy spoiling TESB really was an ass, I hate people like that.

Someone spoiled me for the 6th Harry Potter book and I nearly killed that guy.

Good luck on with the Promo. Have you thought about laying out flyers at Vets or at animal shelters? It would be unusual and fitting. You could also put some at pet shops where you could put right by the real dog food.
Horrible spoiler people...

As one who is fighting to reverse the effects of the horrible "rumors" I'll say I wish it could be done without spoiling anyone... We're not meaning to ruin the impact of whatever episode the "big thing" happens in. We just want the cast of characters to be back to what it should be in Season 4, and we trust the cast wants that too! Kudos to you for keeping mum; sad to say once a couple hundred people know something, keeping it secret is pretty much impossible ;)
Spoilers

Would it help if I told you I actually like spoilers. I'm the sort of person who reads the end of the book first and I hate surprises? No? Still won't spill the beans, hey? Didn't think so :sigh

I really hope we can get Dog's Breakfast downunder.

Hope your flu's better

OoooH and I forgot..Did you manage to gat any screening sorted for P2? x
Written by Zerocool on 2006-10-02 14:27:27
Wow!
I've only been away for 4 days (ill also) and its all changed!
Spoliers? What spoilers? I've been very good avoiding all nasty threads like that for the first half of the second series that alone the second half! Only 16 days left in the UK!
;)
Noooooooooo!

Darth Vader was Luke's father?!!!!Noooooooo!

Sorry, couldn't resist ;-)

Get well soon!
Many wishes...

Thad and I hope you are feeling better soon. (Thad has had the flu all weekend as well) If I can find any contacts for any festivals, ect. to help you, I will let you know. Glad to hear you are on the way to getting "A Dog's Breakfast" out. Wonderful!!

As for SGA - our thanks (I'm sure from everyone on the site) to you and everyone else on the show for all the fun we have had in S3 and before. And for everything that is to come.

SG1 - Again our thanks for ten years of great stories. Everyone who worked on the show (from the actors to all the tech people) did a great job of creating new worlds for us to explore with them. Kisses to Amanda (if you are well enough for that) from us all.

:grin I love the header pic. I too will be sad to see the dgeek url go, but I am gladly updating my links to promote the movie! It's so exciting to know that the marketing is beginning in ernest. I am anxiously awaiting the chance to see ADB.
I'm sorry to hear that you are sick again. I hope you get well soon!
Written by KatieKittieKat on 2006-10-02 10:42:43
Poor David, I hope you're feeling well soon. I was off work all last week, feeling ill, so you have my sympathies.

I have to admit I wondered about the Edinburgh film festival too. But the timing would be abit out. Next August would be a long time to wait, and I think most films have their premiere at the festival.

Still, since I work in Edinburgh, it would be great to see you there.
Hey There
Written by Cygnet on 2006-10-02 09:47:12
Dude, I will miss the dgeek moniker, it was just so appropriate for all the cool stuff on your site, but let's hear it for the movie! YAY!

Take care of yourself and get well soon!
Get Well Soon

May I suggest wonton soup as part of your cold remedy regime? It works for me, because the warm broth soothes and the wontons slip down the sore throat easily, getting much needed solids insode. Other than that, please do rest and take care of yourself. Hopefully Mars will provide the service of a living hot-water bottle.

Thank you for the update on ADB, SGA and SG1--We really appreciate it!

I'll hunt down some NYC Film festivals in addition to Tribeca which is HUGE and gets things into regular distribution.

Feel better!
Chicken Soup
Written by •Halessa• on 2006-10-02 08:59:36
I would recommend chicken soup and bed times to ged rid of the flu (although I know that your working schedule is very extensive). I have the problems by myself - never getting ill during the main working time, but as soon the stress is gone, I'm lying in my bed and try not to sneeze my brain out :grin
Get well soon!

Here's hoping you're feeling better soon, and that Jane is able to remain a virus-free zone.

So sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon and that this week's shooting goes well for you. We are all, of course, hoping the season finale is 'McKay-rich".
Wow. The last day of shooting for SG1. I imagine that will be very emotional for all concerned!

Good luck with 'A Dog's Breakfast'. Be sure to schedule some 'down time' for yourself. Everyone needs some time to rest and relax.
Written by elfgirl on 2006-10-02 07:02:23
I'm going to miss dgeek. Now I'll have to bookmark it. (We'll just ignore the fact it's been perpetually open in a Firefox tab for a month. ::cough::)

As for spoilers, I've gotten philosophical about them. Once upon a time, in a fandom far, far away, I used to love to hunt down spoilers and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Now, not so much. I don't know if I'm just content to let the writers tell their story, or if I just don't have the energy anymore.

Sorry to hear you're sick. Hopefully a weekend full of cuddling and cold remedies helped enough to get you through the last week. (I can't believe it's the last week of filming already!) I have to admit, I'm glad to hear that Rodney will be part of the last SG-1 episode. The scenes with you and Amanda this season have been some of my favorites.

Have a good last week of shooting, and I'm looking forward to seeing A Dog's Breakfast.
Sick sucks
Written by Arlessiar on 2006-10-02 06:46:04
Thanks so much for this update! So many news on SG, ADB and other things!

Hehe, you finally posted the "man face down in dog bowl" pic. :grin

And you have the flu - again? Well, out of personal experience I think that the body knows when it needs to be working because you can't afford to get sick in stressful or demanding times. It's important to be healthy to give 100%. And then, when the stress/pressure lessens, the immune system goes "Bye-bye, I'm taking my well-deserved break now" and there you are, sick as a dog...

So, I really hope you get better soon! I see you already have some TLC and lots of hot lemon, and soon you'll be able to sleep in again, so I guess you'll be fine soon. :)

All the best, and have fun shooting the last scenes of S3!
Written by apban on 2006-10-02 06:33:18
Oh what a surprise you're ill, again. ;) lol but seriously hope you feel better soon

Oh knowing that at the end of this week will be the last filming of SG-1 makes me sadder I can't believe it's going to be canceled, there are so many more stories to be told *crosses fingers* that the story will continue with movies. And no doubt you could talk your way onto an SG-1 movie, you managed to talk your way onto Atlantis. :)

would never have expected you to spoil us and damn that jerk of a guy to hell who spoiled 'The Empire Strikes Bcak' for you, that's just plain cruel.

It would be great if at the end of all this abuse and blabering that I could give you some contacts for film festivals and such, but alas I don't have any. Sorry :cry
Thanx so much!!
Written by drldeboer on 2006-10-02 06:24:43
I really enjoy this website sir, you have been awesome about giving us timely updates. Best wishes with the movie and I hope to see it here in the Tampa, FL area soon! I think there's plenty of people here who would love it.
Also, continuing best wishes with Atlantis, I'm loving your McKay this season SO much!! Can't wait to see the remainder & season 4.
Wow you get to be on SG1 again & "finale" no less. I wouldn't worry too much about that show, it'll be coming back somewhere, and I'm sure there's always room for McKay if you're willing.

Feel better & take care!!
Love ya!! DD

The Edinburgh Film festival is a great idea - shame its only just occured but at least you'd have plenty of time to get it sorted.
http://www.edfilmfest.org.uk/

If that means that the url for dgeek goes completely then boooo. Its so easy to remember. Cant you have both urls pointing at the site?

Would you be happy with TV release say on SKY or does it have to be cinema?
yep
Written by Khalaris on 2006-10-02 06:05:54
I totally second that.
Just the thought of Beckett dying gives me the creeps. I've been freaking out about it the last 2 days.

Nice posters, by the way.
Written by Erynn on 2006-10-02 05:29:15
Unfortunately, I'm one of the folks who's been freaking about the rumors. I appreciate that you're not going to spoil anything, and understand why, but thank you nonetheless for at least addressing the issue.

Has it been 9 months?

Geez, I just realised that I sound like someone's announcing a baby or something...

Hmm, I can't believe the season has gone by so fast and yeah, pooh for SG1's cancellation. I love McKay-Sam interaction - she baits Meredith so wonderfully and he responds in turn.

Good to hear that you'll be promoting the movie - I have yet to make a request for screening in Sydney Australia but I'd like it if you could show it here. I'm just very lazy about these things you know!

Regarding these internet rumours, I honestly didn't know that it'd grown to this magnitude - until you mentioned this! Oh wow, I really have no idea what's going on and I saw something only recently but I'm going to choose to remain unspoiled and unaware... as you said, pooh to that jerk who spoiled your show!

Take care matey and do get better.... :)
Season 3 hasn't even started in Scotlan

The drawing of you and handsome Mars was ok - I mean all humans look the same. But it just 'wasn't Mars'. I am glad that you are using his picture - he is so handsome.
You need to work on your stance when it comes to the dog bowl, this picture might help (wrong animal, right stance).

Good luck with the film, and I hope that it makes its way to Scotland - what about for the Edinburgh festival for next year? Mars wouldn't be able to come but maybe you could bring a cuddly dog toy and pretend it's him (it is first thing in the morning and that is the best that I can come up with).

Best wishes for Mars, you and Jane with the film and may it make you all mega-bucks.Page Title

But I liked "dGeek"! But, the movie's the thing, right?

So what would McKay take for a cold? Certainly not Neo Citron!
aw i hate reality...

Wow. When you mentioned thursday is the last day of filming for SG1 it totally hit me that this is THE END(for SG1 as we know it, that is. I'm still optimistic for digital episodes or movies, like you mentioned! I'll plug http://savestargatesg1.com here and mention there's a new survey out for viewers! so everybody go pronto.) Suddenly very nostalgic and making sad puppy faces at my computer screen. (note to self: if i'm driving around town and see a 'sgate' sign, i'm TOTALLY swiping one! i've resisted the urge this far...haha jk). Anyway, good luck in the promotion and distribution stage!

Great update. Thanks for sharing. Hmm...this new url is longer and will take more time to type out. But on the up side, it actually means something. I've often wondered, though, about when people put "movie" at the end of the url for their movie. For example, does this mean that "www.adogsbreakfast.com" was already taken? And yeah, we know no one can actually tell us anything about where Stargate's going, story-wise, but there's still that "I want to know; no, don't tell me" thing going on. Spoilers help get me excited for upcoming eps, but then when I finally watch them, I wonder if I wouldn't have enjoyed it more if I hadn't known. We ask questions all the time, but secretly don't want them answered.
