Speaking of torture devices...I did a ton of research on these so-called "Elliptical" machines - my knees have been killing me and I wanted to move to some different sort of exercise that would be kinder to God's cruel joke (men's knees) than my Tae Kwon Do kicks and punches. Having looked around at the various sites with hideously fit looking perfect people happily shedding pounds that they didn't have in the first place by thundering away on the ridiculous looking things, I settled on Smooth Fitness...Check this puppy out! On the down side the delivery was a complete disaster. It took over a month and numerous phone calls before it finally got to me! The assembly was a nightmare of complicated poorly worded instructions including one image that was somehow supposed to represent all the different length and types of screws needed to construct this monster (thankfully Grandpa was here to share the blame)...If you were to go with this system, I would definitely recommend that you shell out the extra cash for the home install...however, despite the hair-tearing, start-up sorrows, I've got to say it's a solid machine that really gives you a work-out! I can actually learn lines and exercise at the same time! (Admitedly I've got to come up with a way of attaching my script binder to the dash)! How's that for nerd-like efficiency? Though truth be told, what happens more frequently is that I "ellipse" (works as a verb does it?) while I'm watching TV instead...which, to be fair, makes it go a LOT faster. My inner intellectual snob has a real issue with my new found addiction to "America's Next Top Model"...Damn you Tyra Banks for creating such ridiculously watchable dreck!
Jane and I just were talking about how well the Stargate "Ark of Truth" is doing and were joking about how we should make a "Bark of Truth" tribute trailer to remind fans to buy the "A Dog's Breakfast" DVD and to take advantage of Chris Judge as movie star! However, with Sebastian, "Starcrossed" and "Stargate" line-learning homework hanging over me (Sebastian quite literally hanging over me...must avoid the dread rain of drool) it's just not something we're going to have time for. So if any of you with the nerdy know-how feel like giving it a whirl I'd love to see what you can come up with. How about I send a signed poster and letter of thanks to my favorite?
We've been shooting "Deadalus Variations" all week and it ended with a bang thanks to our pyro pyrotechnical team...they've always got those huge grins on their faces...then again if I was blowing stuff up all day I would too. Must remember to give Baz the "no explosives in the house talk" sooner rather than later.
Time is ticking away towards our upcoming wedding. Jane is frantically trying to organize the event which is happening this June in a castle in England...no pressure there! I think commanding a siege of the place would be less stressful! She's amazing though and still insists on making all of Baz's food from fresh vegetables that she mashes and freezes in little containers for our ever-feeding froggy. I just keep pointing out the pre-made baby food shelf at the grocery store...to no avail.
Speaking of weddings...you or people you know must have had some experience with these "Wedding Websites" right? I need to set one up for our impending battle...I mean wedding...anyone have any sites they like or sites I should avoid...I think I'll twitter the same question, but I really need to narrow it down and get this thing up and running. I was thinking about doing one myself, but I just don't want to spend what little time I have reinventing the wheel. I don't mind spending a bit of money on it, but it's got to do the job...RSVP's directions etc. etc. Anything you've got would be fantastic!

*snicker* Written by krysalys on 2008-05-12 14:37:48 I have to say, looking at the photo of that elliptical trainer... It really will make your ass look fat. When my dad's doctor told him to either stop jogging or expect those shin splints to start exploding out from his skin, dad finally broke down and bought this skiing machine very similar to yours... except without that gigantic butt-enlarging wheel in the back. He even has his set up in the basement with a little TV so he can watch all his History channel programs and exercise without my mom complaining of him boring her to death. Heh. I highly doubt you still need help with wedding website stuff, since I'm late to everything, augh. But if you ever need someone to do website work, a good friend of mine has his own post-prod biz in the Washington DC area, and does webbyness as well - http://procutsediting.com/index.html Other than that? I got nuthin'. Other than the advice for Jane (Of which she's likely heard numerous times): delegate, delegate, delegate. It's your day, take people up on their offers of helping, make sure to take some time for yourself and David to relax, and grandparents are wonderful people for watching over the wee!man so you're not all flustered with being mom as well as bride and wedding coordinator. Getting the hubby to give massages also works well with the destressing and relaxing part. *coughs* And David? Remember to have a handkerchief handy for when you see Jane coming down the aisle. Nothing says stupefied groom like a gigantic glistening line of drool when you see how freakin' gorgeous Jane is in her dress. -----}-@ Kris |
Written by Angelicalangie on 2008-04-04 21:23:44 Never been married helped a friendsort out her blessing (she had hers in a manor house with Chapel attached) The only thing I managed to help with was finding a decent (good enough for prince Charles at Highgrove estate) for a lot less than a lot of cake shops were making (The cake was also bespoke which was cool) I am so glad ittasted wonderful too. I'm definately the go to cake girl, everything else I suck! |
Written by wordplay on 2008-04-04 18:18:58 Oh, man, I remember the foodmash days. All the way through both babies I was perhaps a little obsessed with lidded ice cube trays and teensy tupperware containers and this really ridiculous whole grain mix that had to be food milled to death. There may have been fish oil involved. Now, of course, the kids survive on a steady diet of "chicken" nuggets and cheese pizza and we all just hope for the best. It's really nice to see you blogging again more regularly! Have fun planning the wedding! |
Written by Daystar on 2008-04-04 00:56:03 Dear Jane, Baz, and the D, and the rest of you, Gotta love Cherish4's video. Wow. I am amazed. I consider it an accomplishment to figure out how to defrag my computer. Non techie here. Nothing like a good chocolate egg to give you a reward after a workout. Elliptical trainers. I love'em. I have damaged knees, too, because I've still been fairly active despite being a little overweight. And yes, it is MY definition of a LITTLE. I LOVE the ILLUSION of running. I always have the trainer take weight. How much weight, I'm not saying. But it's nice to think I've run all these, well, mile. Congratulations on the wedding plans! I'm old-fashioned. I believe in marriage, and I'm cheering for you guys. And in an English Castle no-less. How romantic. I can offer no help as far as wedding plans. I've never been married, and I've never helped anyone. ....that sounds really sad. Well, better go. Daystar

Wedding website Written by Cate8 on 2008-04-03 22:14:44 I'm also planning our wedding for Feb 2009, and we use http://www.mywedding.com for our website. I picked them because they were the only site with a winter theme. The webpages are pretty basic, but they're simple to do (and free, which we as bio grad students appreciate). Good luck with the planning. An English castle sounds very cool. |
Youtube group for challenge submissions Written by Little_McKay on 2008-04-03 18:48:15 I thought having links to vids left, right and centre would get confusing so I set up a youtube group for sumbmissions. There are already 5 entries! Wow, are folk FAST! We only just started filming TODAY!!! So the youtube group for submissions is Bark of Truth and the appropriate thread is here |
WOOF! Written by TheSprklnEmerald on 2008-04-03 15:18:37 I wish I had the ability to do the video editing. (I'm actually looking into some classes.) I'm enjoying all the other videos folks have made though. Talented Squirrels! Treadmill Reading Rack - http://www.nefitco.com/up_over.html Or make your own: http://www.sashaproductions.com/Treadmill%20reading%20by%20Tracy%20Cooper-Posey.pdf I see that Fran already pointed out some good wedding site for you. Speaking of explosives, I was watching an ep of Battlestar Galactica last night, and it ws one where they were being attacked on a planet. The explosion effects were SO cheesy. Made me really miss SGA. Good luck finding all those eggs. If Jane is anything like my aunt, you'll be finding them years from now. :D Cheers! Em ~Looking forward to seeing you at Shore Leave! |
Best wishes Written by silvercomet on 2008-04-03 09:30:39 Ooooh, wedding in a castle. I wish you a very beautiful day and that everything is just as you want it! Hoping for a picture. "Good luck" with your elliptical. I sold my stepper again. And the hometrainer (bike) is a little dusty at this moment. Maybe it will help to watch ADB during the training? Will we all be in a position to see starcrossed or only people in America/Canada? |
Easter and Weddings Written by Canaday on 2008-04-02 23:01:04 Glad you had an interesting Easter. We used to hide plastic eggs and chocolate in the office where I worked. We'd find eggs hidden everywhere for months. Best wishes on your wedding. I'd like to be married in an Irish castle myself. Have to find the guy first. HHHMMMM.... Canaday |
Hi from welshgirl Written by welshgirl on 2008-04-02 18:11:23 Hi David. Sounds like you had a busy easter. Hope Baz enjoyed all the eggs. I think its cool that Jane makes here own baby food, I did that too with my son I feel really guilty hearing about all the exercise you are doing. My walking machine is stuck in a corner gathering dust! Must go to the pool this weekend! Like the idea of a "Bark of Truth" trailer! Managed to get hold of a copy of ADB(legally I promise) and a machine that plays region 1 dvds. It was sooooooo funny I couldn't stop laughing. ROFL . My son loved it too - he wanted to watch it all over again. Now I'm telling all my friends about it, so when its released here they will all rush out and buy it!

Ah English Castles.. Written by Cherish4 on 2008-04-02 14:29:17 Wow, getting married in a Castle in my dear old England huh? Sounds very romantic! Now if only we can have an actual Summer in June and not the usual rain downpour, you'll be all set! |

I wish for you wonderful weather and good travels for the happy event. Have someone take loads of pictures, maybe you will share with us. |
Wedding website, eh? Written by Callisto on 2008-04-01 21:15:04 Well, I'm working on planning my own wedding too! August 3rd to be exact. I've been using weddingchannel.com. They offer a free wedding website with options for more elaborate ones, for a nominal fee. They also offer a wedding budget organizer, guest list organizer, a check list, and more. It was recommended to me so I really didn't look around, but I like it. Good luck with everything, it is pretty crazy. |
Creaky Written by crazymom on 2008-04-01 00:50:27 A wedding website. Wow, I feel old. That seems to be happening more and more these days...heh. On the bright side, my knees have been making that really loud cracking noise since I was a teenager, and they still don't hurt, so I suppose I'm doing okay. |

A Tired Brainless Dreck of a Comment Written by JintosNanna on 2008-03-31 22:48:09 Hello! Just wanted to pop in and say congrats on your upcoming wedding. I got married myself on Easter Sunday. I am a newlywed who is traveling to Vancouver for the week. I am actually half dead in Seattle right this moment. So enjoy the newlywed status while it is so new. And a castle in England. Very cool! I applaud Jane for her fantastic taste and would tip my hat to her as well if I were wearing one right now! Love and hugs! Rachel (JintosNanna) |
One word: teleprompter . .. Written by WolfenM on 2008-03-31 19:37:15 *shakes head* only you could find a way to geek out over excercise! :D Me, I'm a walker -- happily, we have a bike trail close by, and lots of wildlife to make it pleasant. .... So anyway, I guess what you need is some way to do a teleprompt of your lines on the TV. Not sure how you'd do that -- maybe watch TV on your laptop and code a widget that would run your lines across the screen? A wedding at a castle?? Sa-weet! :D Jane is a woman after my own heart -- I always imagined that, if I got "handfasted", I'd do it at a castle. *dreamy sigh* As for wedding-related sites, I hope this isn't out of line, but since you asked ... my friend Sharon does custom invitations -- check out this mock-invite: http://lynx-the-ranger.deviantart.com/art/Medieval-Invitation-II-68592884 |
Happy Spring Written by Nyssa on 2008-03-31 17:13:58 Hi David! Glad to hear that things are looking so well for Starcrossed. I can't wait to see what you do with it. Larry Sanders was the best show ever! (No pressure!!) Hmm, wedding in a castle, sounds like someone is living out her childhood fantasy!? I know it was mine. Are you going to ride up on a white horse & whisk Jane away? Well, she deserves it! Sounds like she is just the best Mom ever ! Since she's making all of Baz's food herself it is no wonder he looks so bright eyed & healthy! Hugs to you, Jane, Baz & Mars P.S. Just over 3 months till Shore Leave!!!

Written by Zerocool on 2008-03-31 14:08:09 ooh I'm excited for you! England is a wise and excellent choice of course My personal choice of castle would have been Sherbourne castle Dorset (I have family ties to it apparently). But there are loads of beautiful ones. Pretty sure there was one just outside of Arundel in Sussex that I was particularly keen on. Turned out we settled for a church and a barn . I can recommend some English wedding websites, if there are relatives over here doing some organising confetti.co.uk springs to mind. Was there something specific you were looking for? Think I'll leave the 'Bark of Truth' for now. I'm busily painting nursery or more precisely codemonkey is. Good luck! You'll be suprised how much spare cash you'll have when its all over |

UK Thoughts Written by Mirth on 2008-03-31 13:07:51 Ellipitcal = Instant Heart Attack. Can't use em. Seriously - four steps and my heart is trying to get outta my heart faster than Scooby Doo from the fake ghost and no scooby chocolate snack is gonna get it back in there either. Damn things a menace. Everything else - I like - Rowing machines are excellent. Hubby likes ANTM as well and I can't help but wonder if either of you would feel as strongly if it was America's Top MALE Models?? It is suprisingly good. I like the UK Apprentice as well - Just started here. Finding chocolate all round the house. That sounds like heaven to me. No help on Wedding sites - Sorry. Fantastic news that you doing UK Castle - should be fantastic. Hope all goes well for you. Like everyone says you n Jayne are peas in the pod with all the excess energy. If Baz takes after both of you then you will have your work cut out trying to keep up with him. Double that energy then you should attempt to harness it and create new world energy. Thanks for dropping in and saying hi. We have threads like Quest for King and Where is he but we're just joking. We know you are extremely busy which just makes it all the more special when you drop in. Ta Hun. Mirth xx PS : I think June will be gorgeous weather!

Written by Becky S. on 2008-03-31 12:44:48 I read this entry before I went to work last night, but didn't have time to respond. Glad you found some exercise equipment you like. And - just so you know - God's cruel joke is not limited to just men. Oh, no. He's an equal opportunity joker. Trust me, I know. All too well. Your story of finding cholcolate eggs everywhere reminds me of when I was young, my mother would hide the Easter baskets for my brother and myself. We had to figure out a series of clues and riddles to hunt them down (each of us had a seperate basket hidden in different places). I find I greatly miss that now that she's gone and I'm older. It was always great fun. I wish I could offer some help with the wedding sites. Unfortunately, I've never used any and I don't anyone that has. Of course, it's also been a while since any of my friends/family have had a wedding. I hope some of the suggestions the others have offered can help you. I am in complete amazement of Jane! She can do so much. I wish I knew her secret. May the wedding plans go smoothly and be as problem free as possible! A castle sounds great.

Written by Muffin on 2008-03-31 12:14:09 Castle in England that sounds lovely, certainly enough to choose from over here thats for sure. Hope it all gets sorted smoothly enough for you! Been doing the gym since Jan but have been too scared to get on one of those babies have only just mastered walking quickly uphill on the treadmill. Let alone run! But maybe when I work my way up to them I'll see about getting one for home, tv and gym sounds good! Trailer idea sounds great, going to get cracking on it! |
Written by nanook660 on 2008-03-31 11:46:31 Hi David. Hello from Toronto. Ahhh yes those Elipitical Machines. We have one of those in the basement. It makes a great cloathes rack. We also have free weights, a weight bench, those big balls, and a step. I say we have them I did not say they are in use. I go to the Y and use the machines there. That is where I take Karate too. Have you thought about joining the YMCA David? They have great programs for the whole Family. Our Y has a child minding area What about trying "Aqua Fit" Aerobics done in the water. http://www.ymca.net/ Look at assembling stuff like this as practice. I can see you in the future putting together toys, tree house, tree forts, kid bikes, swing sets. It is coming David. Good luck at the wedding plans. Hey aren't little sisters supposed to help with that? Hugs Fran |
Written by stabbish on 2008-03-31 11:18:02 It makes me happy to hear that Top Model has the same effect on other people...so happy. Good luck with all the wedding plans...I'd offer help, but I wouldn't know the first thing about it. |
Written by Kim_Dancing Archaeologist on 2008-03-31 11:16:01 Hmm, that eliptical thing does look a bit torturous! I'll stick to dancing, I think. Speaking of which, I'm off to my own weekend in an English castle in May - to dance all day and night. Exciting news about Starcrossed's development - can't wait! Unfortunately I can't help with the wedding website thing - no-one I know has done it - but I wish I could because I can just imagine how stressful the organising part of it is! I'm sure it'll be a wonderful day for you all though. Take care. K. |

The unpredictability of England Written by ladygeeke on 2008-03-31 09:01:28 Hmm, June in England - be prepared for rain. And cold. And, of course, rain.... Occasionally we do have fantastic weather in June but I wouldn't bet on it. Our castles, though, are pretty hard to beat. I wish you and Jane (and Baz) all the best for the big day - and I hope you can also fit the visit round some kind of English fan event, so I can pop in and say hello and congrats and get the happy couple to sign my DB DVD. Much love Pat xxx

A Bark, A Baby, and a Butt Written by MicheleBlue on 2008-03-31 08:02:55 Nice and fun title to get attention to two great movies. If only i had the talent and the time to create something for you, i would! a website for Jane Baby Food. Good luck with all of the wedding stuff, Martha Stewart has great books and magazines, which i am sure they tell of great websites to set up wedding info at....my suggestion is pick up one of her wedding magazines the next time you are shopping at the store. It helped me with setting up my brothers wedding stuff last fall. Elliptical machines...all i can say is, "no thanks!" Those things are freaky to work out on. I'll run or ride a bike anyday of the week to lose my "butt". ;-) happy late Easter to you, Baz and Jane! *peace* Michele Blue |
The Bark of Truth Written by The Giggle Squirrel on 2008-03-31 06:53:52 Funnee Seperating six degrees... I've recently rewatched Farscape. If you haven't done so, you really need to watch it. The Who!Geek in you will appreciate it... I'm on my third breakdown (not emotional - basically a synopsis of the characters and episode storylines) Bwhaha, yeah right. You don't have to be insane to be a writer, but it does help. Good luck with the wedding preparations Love, Helen x |

And the truth shall set you free Written by Ascended Spirit on 2008-03-31 06:43:39 Love the title for blog entry. I will see what I can do with making a video for A Dog's Breakfast meets The Ark of Truth. Making baby food is the best way to go. We made our own baby food. We would feed the boys whatever we were having. We mash it up for them of course. If you do buy jars of baby food go with Heinz no preservities. I recommend buying some for the jars. Great tip putting food while still hot in jar will seal the jar when the food cools. I am sure you already knew that. LOL A wedding in a castle that is very romantic. Good luck in everything. |
Written by Squonk on 2008-03-31 05:47:43 Ahhh, yes, those machines are very good for reducing the stress on the knees. I have to use those rather than a regular tread mill for that very reason. But for some reason i find i lose the feelings in my toes on them! An English Castle eh? Very nice! don't suppose you can share which one......... Sounds like you and Jane are peas in a pod - work wise that is! You're both very busy!! Best of luck with it all - still looking forward to Starcrossed! |
You crack me up! Written by YorkshireLizzie on 2008-03-31 05:14:57 Hiya David, You seriously crack me up dude! I can almost picture you on training hard, wolfing down easter eggs while commenting on the latest ANTM antics!!! LOL! Either way sounds like you have the life! As for Jane - you picked the right one there! Cant believe she has so much energy!!! Fresh baby food, organising a wedding abroad (though I have to say an English castle - the best taste my dear!) and producing starcrossed. Go for it gal!! A woman after my own heart. Fingers crossed all goes fabulously well and our British Summer holds back any raindrops in favour of bright sunshine for you both. As for advice unfortunately when it comes to high tec stuff I backpedal. A Sci-Fi Geek yes. Computer Geek - afraid not though my hero is Abbi from NCIS. Cool chick. Am sure though some of the geniuses on this site will offer excellent advice and guidance. Stay well and best wishes to the rest of the clan. Liz xxx

Good Luck Written by DoctorWho on 2008-03-31 05:06:17 Yello Good Luck with your wedding. I hope you have a good time over here and finger crossed it doesn't rain cos we had some weird weather last summer. My auntie gets my baby cousin store bought food but even after shelling out the cash for it my cousin prefers simple bread adn butter. My sisters are addicted to ANTM but I haven't told them it's back on over here in the ukotherwise I'd never get a hold onf the tv. |
Written by vsather on 2008-03-31 04:54:58 Since you're getting hitched in the lovely land of rain, Cadbury Trifles (you must try them!) and bad humour (God, how I love Great Britain), Hitched.co.uk might be of some use. Possibly. Apart from that, I second the previous suggestion of Ewedding. You might also want to check out WedNet and WeddingWindow. Since I'm head bridesmaid to a friend getting married this July, I know of several websites, but most of them are in Norwegian Gibberish. Sadly, I'm no good at trailer making, but I wouldn't reject a signed poster and letter for my assistance on wedding sites. Anyway, thanks for giving me something to do on a slow, boring day at work. |
Control Freak Geek Written by kathmuse on 2008-03-31 04:11:36 Because my husband is a control freak geek, we made our own wedding site. It may also have had something to do with the fact that we had three receptions (two in the US and one in the UK), so it was easier to put everything in one place. The commercial sites we looked at (way) back in 2001 didn't really support that, although they may now. Kath |
Baby food and Wedding... :D Written by Amy_McKay on 2008-03-31 04:07:51 Jane is a wise mother... I've learned from my brother (he has three kids) that the best baby food was made by himself. And the wedding in England Wow... that is so romantic.

Written by Becketts_Patient on 2008-03-31 03:06:56 I have to say, I prefer playing football to be fit. I might have bad knees too ( I already had surgery on each of them) but it's just too much fun to miss. I could never ever be motivated enough for simply going for a run without the ambition of playing. But I guess everyone does as one like to stay fit I must admit that I missed the easteregg hunt this year. I think it was even the first time without the hunt for me. Normally my mother hides something for us but this time they came back from holidays on easter and she couldn't buy anything I'd really love to help you out with the bark of truth but currently I'm very busy with finishing my costume for the FEdCon. Yes, I'll be competing at the great FedCOn in Germany I must be crazy And anyway I've never done a vid and it would probably take me weeks only to figure out how to do it. I'll leave that to the old hands Hmmm, the only one I know that recently had a wedding is my cousin. I googled her but couldn't find a site and I can't remember them having one. Can't help you there.... but I love the idea of wedding in an English castle. But my wedding day is still miles away *lol* |
Written by Freak4theGeek on 2008-03-31 03:04:56 ooooo we call those ellipticals cross trainers. Not good for people with bad knees. I won't use em! Send it back, complete with uneaten chocolate and the coloured foil hahahahahah.. |

That wouldn't happen at my place cause i'm a chocaholic & it only last about 1 day if your lucky! Take care & happiness always! Cathie |
Wedding Sites Written by mackenziesmomma on 2008-03-31 00:10:09 Here are some of the sites I used back when I briefly considered getting married(lets not go into THAT subject shall we? ) Try: The Knot The Wedding Channel My Wedding E Wedding Our Wedding Day Okay, thats enough for now but all are helpful, and have an area where you can set up you're own 'wedding site' which'll centralize the process. |
Written by roflcopter on 2008-03-31 00:01:27 Sit and Be Fit sir. |
Different exercises you say? Written by roflcopter on 2008-03-30 23:23:45 Have you ever heard of Sit and Be Fit, sir? You could still watch ANTM while you're doing those exercises. |
wedding stuff Written by marmotsgrl on 2008-03-30 22:35:41 Don't you hate it when you type this great reply to a posting and you have all this wonderful information and you try to send and you forgot to log in? GRRR R OK here is what I said - basically. Elliptical - totally understand. Knees are too crunchy - I found one with a TV built in - Iron Man Ascender Wedding web page - www.weddingsolutions.com we found this site because we bought the nook at Barnes and Noble. Helps you keep track of the times lines - when to send out invites, when to order flowers, when to order cake, etc. Keeps track of vendors that you will be using and guests that you are inviting. This site also has a nice little giftt registry as well. I hope that you and Jane have a wonderful wedding. I really hope you enjoy it. All the planning and stressing and when the days comes it all happens so fast! |
Written by MdGateFan on 2008-03-30 22:16:21 Yikes...sounds like you a have got a lot going on right now. And as hard as you are working it sounds like Jane is working even harder. We did the Easter Egg thing with my niece. An "easy hiding place" one as niece is only 2 1/2 but it was lots of fun. Next year you might be the one to hide the stuff and let Baz find them - rather then the other way around.

Written by Shawna on 2008-03-30 22:14:43 Hm, a video challenge. Never made a trailer before. This could be fun. |
Bark of Truth trailer! Written by canuck_kat on 2008-03-30 22:10:07 My idea for the trailer would go something like this: Mars: Woof woof woof! Morgan Le Fay: What's that, Mars? Teal'c's in trouble? Mars: Woof! Woof woof woof! Morgan Le Fay: And the team got captured by the Ori army? Mars: Woof woof! Woof woof woof woof! Morgan Le Fay: You're right! I better get going before Adri kills them all. Thanks, Mars! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *gives innocent look* Goodness David! You should watch Dancing with the Stars when you ellipse... it'll make you feel like you did twice the exercise! :P Plus, Marlee Matlin's on it. Damn, she dances so well. |
Written by Nightsister on 2008-03-30 21:54:42 My sister dutifully bought an organic sweet potato, roasted it, mashed it, and fed it to her daughter... then discovered the organic sweet potato baby food at the store the next day. And actually, she was told by her pediatrician not to mash store-bought fresh carrots -- something about nitrates in the soil?? Hopefully that's not a problem where you are! I think you should have Jane show you some yoga poses. Maybe your next next project can be Mommy & Daddy & Doggy & Me yoga! Fun for the entire family! |
Homemade baby food.. Written by Torchwood on 2008-03-30 21:42:25 David, Jane is doing a WONDERFUL job of making Baz's food. Less bad stuff in there. She knows what he's getting and all that good stuff. I did that for 2 of my 4 boys. Homemade beef stew, chicken fricasse, and the like. Made it then froze the left overs. He loved it!! Weddings.....when we got married almost 16 years ago..sheesh that long ago?! I didn't even own a pc. We were gonna get married at sea on the flight deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, but we decided to fly back home so my mom and dad could do the parent thing. (Yep, I was in the Navy.) Castle in England? Takes some pics and share. Give Baz, Jane and Mars a kiss & hug for us. Please follow me on twitter------deltatwo. Love from Tennessee, Michelle |
Whoa! Juggling much Written by crazy4dh on 2008-03-30 20:32:57 No wonder you have no time for us squirrels at the moment. I'm tired just reading about everything you are doing. Jane sounds like a trooper! Not that we want to intrude on a very personal day, but a picture of the castle would be cool.
A romantic wedding, a well-loved baby & Written by Kdvb1 on 2008-03-30 20:32:22 I told my husband that he should hook up some kind of exercising machine to the TV or the computer. Make it so neither work unless I'm using exercising. That would make me do the work! LOL A wedding in a castle, in England, in June? I am SO envious! That would have been my dream wedding if I could have afforded it! So, who thought of that? I'm betting Jane. I hope it is all you both imagine and more! I've been married quite a while...so there weren't any wedding websites that I knew of! Isn't Baz lucky to have Jane for a mom? I thought of doing the homemade baby food, but the stuff on the shelves was just too tempting...lol. Hey...I am a good mom though and I did breastfeed! *looks around and hopes I'm not the only one to feed store bought baby food to their kids around here* I can't wait til Starcrossed comes out...hopefully it will do well on the web and be picked up by some TV station! Written by zwild1 on 2008-03-30 20:29:30 I really do feel your pain with the knee problems! I try to go to the "Y" every week and work on the elliptical and padded track that they have...also nice on the knees by the way. The only wedding site I have heard any comments on is eweddings.com found here: http://www.ewedding.com/index.php |
Written by Assilem on 2008-03-30 20:08:45 You have challenged me! I now must take it! Now if I fail Canadain Literature because I'm making a video instead of writing my term paper on Surfacing (by Atwood), I shall blame you. |
Written by NZ_Jackie on 2008-03-30 20:04:48 Damn! I want to rise to the challange of making a Vid, I shall see what I can do! I wish I had the energy to get on one of those machines, will have to one day... I know a great NZ wedding site, but I don't think you'll want that one as it is NZ... NZJ |
Written by Fraggledragon on 2008-03-30 19:50:11 Good to hear from you! Ellipticals, have one, and also have two knackered knees! Weddings sites, erm no. Married almost 11 years ago, and the sites were rubbish then! Easter egg hunts! Yeah, We had one of those! Jnr looked as though he had rubbed the chocolate on like makeup! And with this being the site of shameless self promotion, I see we have already risen to your challenge!!! (Little McKay!) LOL!!!! HA!!!! Good luck with all the filming and such! Fraggle!
BARK OF TRUTH is already in the works! Written by Little_McKay on 2008-03-30 19:46:21 My team (Fraggle Dragon, Jewels and I) will rise to your vid challenge. Movie Magic Screenwriter (scriptwriting program) is open and I'm brainstorming already . I am SO not sleeping tonight am I? Good luck with the scary machine, I'll stick with those TKD moves myself :P. Also, have fun planning the wedding - I don't know anything about sites, soz! Oh and enjoy England, it's nearly as good as Scotland...almost :P. So everyone, keep and eye on Reluctant Genius Production's youtube page for our attempt, hopefully coming soon . There are plenty of SGA home made fan vids to keep you going for now . |
Nice Elliptical! Written by Astrumporta on 2008-03-30 19:32:59 Very nice unit! It's great it has 3 different ways to hold on, 'cause that's the part that gets tedious. My recumbent bike arrived with no instructions at all, which of course I didn't discover until it was all apart in my living room. When both google and Amazon couldn't locate a manual for me, I made Amazon come pick up the whole heap. Then got this lovely trainer instead, all installed: Lemond Trainer Good luck with the chocolate-finding, exercise-doing, and wedding planning! I can't wait to see Baz's tux.  |
Sure you don't have telepathic abilitie Written by Arlessiar on 2008-03-30 19:31:20 Ok, that's weird: while you posted that entry I was watching TV and I thought that I really need to start exercising - which I hate with a passion because it's boring and just plain evil - and that I could maybe buy myself a treadmill or something because I could exercise and watch TV at the same time then, and maybe the distraction would help to endure the boredom (and to forget or ignore the blood, sweat and tears). And at the same time that I was thinking that, you were writing about this torture device in your house and about watching TV while exercising. :D Even weirder - guess which show became MY guilty pleasure in the last two months? Yeah, "Germany's next top model"... it's not very, ehhh, 'deep', but somehow highly entertaining. So Jane is cooking for Baz? That's great and I hope Baz appreciates it! :D Especially since most mothers I know cooked the food for their first baby themselves - and for the second baby they rather bought the baby food in a grocery store then. A wedding in a castle in England in June - way more romantic than a siege! *g* I wish you and especially Jane all the best for the preparations (at the Pegasus 2 con Jane joked that she'd be the one who'd have to organise everything on her own because you'd be much too busy with SGA! So you better come up with a really great wedding gift for her! And no, saying that her gift is getting you as her husband isn't sufficient! :P ). |
wedding site recommendation Written by Sweeneybird on 2008-03-30 19:22:14 Many of my friends who've done out of town weddings have used The Knot (www.theknot.com) and like it well enough. As a guest I found it quite helpful. And might I suggest that Mars serve as ringbearer? I'm just sayin', he's already used to following direction. |
Written by susanthetartanturtle on 2008-03-30 19:14:59 No mention of Mars? Bad Person that you are. |
PILATES!!! :D Written by whovian on 2008-03-30 19:06:41 David, For being gentle on the knees, I prefer Pilates. And it was created by a really buff guy! It's not just for us ballerina types. I SWEAR! Hope the elliptical is good. OMG!!! YOU ARE AN ANTM FAN TOO???? HA!! If you can come out of the closet so can I! Yes! Darn that Tyra Banks! HA! HA! HA! I hope they get rid of Dominque because she's annoying. Well, I got married "back in the day" so I can't help you with wedding websites. Sorry! However, I will see if Princess Erin and her big sister, Allie (aka systomoverload) will be interested in a "Bark of Truth" trailer home made movie! But we need to wait maybe until after... GATECON VANCOUVER!!!!!!!!!! Don't ya wanna visit us squirrels making the trek to the sets??? Well, thanks for the blog. We were going to send out the squirrel-cavalry to come and look for you. |
Assembly nightmare Written by wraithfodder on 2008-03-30 18:57:35 i swear, most things you order that require assembly turn into a nightmare But have fun with the machine! Alas, don't know of any wedding sites, but did read an article that said "don't put up drunken photos of the bride/groom on the site," because, apparently, people do foolish things thinking, eh, nobody's gonna remember this  |
The nemesis Written by ScarletBegonia on 2008-03-30 18:53:36 Wow, does your elliptical machine have it's own room? I call my treadmill The Behemoth...it takes up about a third of the living room of my small, one-bedroom apartment (1/3 for the computer and 1/3 for the new HD tv and recliner...what more could a retired person want?) Thanks for writing to us about your happy family. Scarlet |
"Ellipse" Written by ruggerdavey on 2008-03-30 18:41:16 I love the elliptical machines, though I like the variation on them that I use at the gym better than the one you bought. Though I have to say that using "ellipse" as a workout verb doesn't work for me - it brings to mind AP Calculus and high school Latin (we had to ellipse/elide the Latin into speaking terms for inducting our younger brethren into the Latin Honor Society). Good luck on the wedding planning. I am jealous of the English castle wedding, though I'd prefer Scotland a wee bit more. I am just that kind of girl. |
The Drool of Doom! Written by rosiewook on 2008-03-30 18:29:53 Always nice to hear from you. I think you manage to come back on just when the stories we make up about your disappearance get to their most wacky. As for the drool from Baz? That's a good sign. That means that the fresh baby food (can Jane be any more amazing?) won't have to go on terribly much longer before those teeth get in and get busy. The wedding sites? I'm sure those way more together can give you hints, but my friends really liked the freebie hosting that you can get here: http://www.wedshare.com/?gclid=CIjTy4PxtZICFRUYsgodtRrsRQ. They also liked this one: http://www.ewedding.com/?wcw=google1&gclid=CP249o3xtZICFQezsgodlVr4QQ Yes, highly insulting to a geek of your stature, but, then again, you're a geek of stature who has no time. I'm just sayin'.... |
Written by girly_curl_3 on 2008-03-30 18:01:50 All great news! Enjoy the elliptical - I think I would've enjoyed the assembly part more, but that's because I'm an instructions geek. Good luck with the wedding and can't wait for more Starcrossed news! |
Written by Century Winter on 2008-03-30 17:25:47 Wow it's almost down to crunch time for the wedding. not that i'm one to talk my husband and i did every thing in two weeks, i'm talking planned, invited and i do in two weeks. even got into a car crash in that time. And I no longer try to assemble anything on my own. Too many Christmas and birthday nightmares. I'm with you on the being happy blowing things up. It is a great way to relieve stress...well I'm told that anyway. Best of luck on the wedding and learning lines. Century |
Written by zedpm on 2008-03-30 17:12:34 The last of my family (not last as in 'Last of the Mohicans', more like the most recent one) to get marriedWedding Path which, although has really kitsch templates, seems to have the important things like maps and whatnot.
