Baz and Dad run lines

What great ratings for the season 4 finale “Last Man” (Joe thinks the title refers to Shep...we know it’s McKay) - Thanks so much to you all for tuning in and giving us such great numbers and helping to pave the way for more adventures in the Pegasus galaxy! I really think you’re going to like what we’ve got for you to fire up Atlantis Season 5…teeheehee…I know and you don’t! ;-) Just read Brad Wright's latest Atlantis script and can I just say that he’s going to tear your little hearts out?! It’s an amazing story that involves the entire cast and I can’t wait to get shooting it!

I’ve just had my first bath in front of the entire Atlantis crew…thankfully just BEFORE lunch rather than after it….I would be displacing a hell of a lot more water after I’ve finished grazing the fine foods of our lunchtime catering…what sane soul can say no to free deserts?…certainly not this one! If me in a bath doesn’t sink the franchise then we may be unstoppable…anyone who has seen “A Dog’s Breakfast” knows what horror awaits them ;-)

Ken Girotti is directing this episode and he’s doing an incredible job…more importantly he’s great fun to tease and knows exactly how to give it back…we’re all hoping he’ll be returning for more later this season.

Great interview on scifi.about.com, which I really enjoyed doing. How much fun is it, as a geek who loves science fiction, to discuss science fiction with people who love science fiction - and for a living! Check it out if you feel the need to hear me prattle on about our little Atlantis world.

Things seem to be all firmed up with Shoreleave July 11-13, my first convention in eons, so I expect you all to be on your best behavior and to flock to us in the millions. Kate and I will be shamelessly promoting and hawking “A Dog’s Breakfast” DVD’s and making up gossip about each other and the cast of the Stargate…some of which could be true! I may even have some wedding tales to tell!

Baz rolled over today and Jane did stellar job of documenting the historical moment: two photos of him on his back and then one of him face planted in the carpet…ah the joys of fatherhood.

I swear I've seen the expression your son showed in this latest picture, on your face in a few of the episodes of Atlantis. I am glad to hear that the next season of Atlantis looks so promising. While I'm not one to ever agree with what critics or ratings every have to say, I believe they were right this time. "Last Man" was an incredible episode from every perspective. The acting was superb, graphics and filmography amazing, all the while still in the realm of believability (at least in the SGA universe). Such cannot be said about the last episode of SG-1, sadly.    I look forward to season 5 and seeing more of Dr. McKay's exploits in the Pegasus galaxy! It's obvious that he's inherited his Dad's gift for expressing himself with just a look... Glad to hear that Jane is documenting all the milestones in photos -- they grow so fast! And she does such a fine job of capturing both her boys at the best times!    How is Mars reacting to Baz? Fair warning, take up all the "breakables" before the boy becomes mobile on his own, and especially before he discovers that the dog is a more-than-willing participant in any game of "chase"!    Really enjoyed "The Last Man;" much of it was heartbreaking, but as always, an outstanding performance on your part -- just wish it hadn't ended with the team in such a perilous place! Season 4 in general was wonderful; the second half came just in time to keep us Midwestern squirrels (reasonably) sane during The Winter That Would Not End! I'm really looking forward to S5, and hoping that we won't have to wait until the fall to see what goodies the new season has in store!    Thank you for the update! Of course, I can't remember what 6 hours in a row feels like, either. Ours turned 11 months the day this picture was taken. If you and Jane aren't sleeping every chance you get now, you'll regret it when the teething starts. The good news is, they just get more and more fun to be around as they get more mobile. Next will be first crawl, first walk, first tooth, etc the list just goes on. Aren't kids great when they are small.? Get lots of photos. Sheppard is the last man alive in Atlantis, and McKay is the last man who doesn't give up on Atlantis, the last man of the expedition to return to it. If McKay hadn't, Sheppard wouldn't be the last man -- he'd be a dead man. It's a hell of a title, to capture both halves of the timeline.     In a sense Sheppard and McKay are "doubles" (to use Gibert & Gubar's lit term), meaning they mirror each other in the story. Neither of them will ever give up. They're both the last man for that reason.     Okay, now going back to writing literature essays and earning grades for this sort of analysis... thanks for the break during finals. Looks a lot like dad, doesn't he?     I loved "The Last Man" - you really outdid yourself, the memorization must have been brutal. Terrificly subtle performances by you and Joe made it really affecting, and the lighting was tremendous.    Hope that your appearance at Shore Leave means that you and Kate are considering Dragon*Con - it's scary, but fun, and you can hide in your room when Chris Judge drags everyone to a strip club.

What a cutie!    "The Last Man" was a fun episode (even I had figured about 90% of it out from previews and spoilers before I saw it) And I am looking forward to seeing what we get in season five.    Would love to go to Shoreleave, but as it happens on a week that I work and getting vacation time in July isn't the easiest thing to do where I'm at, it's very unlikely. But I hope that everyone who can go has a great time!
