![]() iBaz But he's so cute!? Baz is asleep and apparently I'm not allowed to wake him up just so I can heroically soothe him back to sleep again. Even though I'm convinced he's loving my Leonard Cohen covers and the sudden revival of Chris de Burgh. Let's just say that Baz won't be paying any ferrymen anything anytime soon, at least until he's on the other side. I'm assuming that melancholic is better than just colic and that these eighties sonic treasure will stave off any possible sport related tendencies he may have. Evil friends have begun sending hockey-themed children's books, but they will just make great new fuel for my book burnings. We've been picked up for another season! I have to confess that I had some serious doubts that you'd be seeing our shiny happy faces for that fifth season of Atlantis. Let's hope it's the best one yet! Speaking of which, word on the street...and by that I mean the forums (because I never get as far as the street)...is that Stargate Atlantis is up for a People's Choice Award! So what are you sitting around reading this drivel for...get over there and vote your little SG hearts out we're in the best Sci Fi category! All I know is that this could mean that Baz and I (okay Jane too since she's got the milk) could be meeting Queen Latifah...We love that woman...a funny cool actor rap-artist extraordinaire...which is exatly what I plan on being when I grow up! Oh, and while you're at it...could you please have a look at heynielsen and giving "The Dog's Breakfast" some help on the charts! It's coming up to Christmas and what better way to spend the holiday season than with a good clean yuletide murder. Whoopi Goldberg certainly seemed to like the sound of it when I spoke with her on her radio show "Wake up with Whoopi"...and just for the record, that is the nicest team of producers and on-air personalities that I've ever had the pleasure of waking up at 5 in the morning for! For those of you "out of the zone"...as in the entire rest of the world, all I can say is I'm sorry but the distributors tell us that they're not planning on getting the "international" "A Dog's Breakfast" DVD's out until the "first quarter of 2008"...in the mean time it seems that people on the "other side of the pond" have been having a rip-roaring time pirating our puppy. I was amazed to see that on one site alone it's been downloaded over 600 times! Wouldn't it have been great if all those people were just able to buy a DVD locally? (Don't get me started on that DVD region-ing thing!) Oh well, let's hope that when it finally does get released "internationally" all those little pirates rush out to get their own copy...you know, for all those super-dandy extras we've crammed on there! "Starcrossed" episode concepts went out to SciFi a couple of weeks ago, and we've met up with all the local unions about how to shoot this thing on our little web-budget. Things could be warming up for the end of January! The plan is to write and shoot 10 short vignettes that set up the wild, weird and wacky world of "Starcrossed" and see if anyone cares to watch. From there, if we've glued enough eyeballs to those, we'll either continue with 10 more webisodes and/or bring "Starcrossed" to television. Fingers (star) crossed! I finish shooting "Helen" this weekend with a nice moody scene alongside Goran Visnic (who is a huge Stargate Fan I think I may have mentioned...how cool is that!?) and then it's back and forth to Toronto for the next couple of months while I shoot "Splice" with Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley. It's being directed by one of my oldest and best friends Vincenzo Natali and producer Steve Hoban. Another cool factor (other than getting to work with old friends again!) is that the film is being executive produced by none other than Guillermo del Toro! When I grow up I'd like to be Hell Boy... as well as a funny cool actor rap-artist extraordinare (maybe extraterrestrial?) ;-) Thanks for putting up with the silence of the Baz! Hopefully I'll get better and sneaking in time for some more blogging! D! |
