Short week on Atlantis for me, just Thursday and Friday of McKay, though they packed in three episodes...we finished off Trio, Outcast and started our big season finale Last man. Atlantis is back on the air as of Friday night at 10pm. We're all keeping our fingers crossed that the audience numbers make SciFi happy enough to bring us back for season five. Make sure you're watching...I'll find out if you haven't...in fact report your friends if they're not watching and I'll sic the dog on them! ;-)
Next week is looking brutal with 4 hours of prosthetics every day...not to mention all that marvelous McKay dialogue!
Keep that glorious A Dog's Breakfast feedback coming! We've been getting countless emails from happy DVD owners and I can't tell you how much it makes my day! We put so much into getting this movie made and out there and I am so thrilled to hear from real live people that they think that it was worth the effort (and the price of the DVD). Please keep spreading the word!
Once we get this Season of Atlantis in the can and convince Hewlett 2.0 to shed Mummy and become a slightly more active member of society I'm looking to get the "A Dog's Breakfast" simulcast (now that you DVD'ers can join the fun) back on the schedule. Hope that works for your calendars!
P.S. Just looking at the forums and cracking up about you savvy squirrels weighing in on "Team Stargate" and curious about getting "A Dog's Breakfast" and "Atlantis" on this HeyNeilson thing...which I can't seem to access...too many tree dwelling rodents perchance?

Congrats Written by Gebo on 2007-12-11 10:43:03 Been out of comission for a long time (lots of Work ) so only just catching up. Congrats to you and Jane on your good news, and the sleepless nights. Not so many of those now I hope. All the best and Merry Christmas and a joyful 2008 to you all. |
Joost distribution? Written by kmunro on 2007-10-09 20:15:12 Hi there, I'm sure you've considered this, but Joost just went free to the public, and it's a great way for indie films to get out there. High-quality streaming video, compatible with Windows & Mac, from what I hear. And nice user interface, too. http://www.joost.com/ All best, Karen

Royal Mail strike Written by Bauer on 2007-10-09 12:01:14 Lol, YorkshireLizzie - us posties have been on strike for 4 days, not a week :P. It's basically just been a long, mail-free, weekend. However - some good news for ya! It looks like it shouldn't be too long for us to pick up the backlog - less than a week - and packages WILL get more priority over junk mail so don't worry...too much. I hope it gets to you soon. Sorry about the postie situation but Royal Mail is a joke - unfortunately, working for them is not in the least bit funny!!! I received my copy weeks ago so it will get there - hang on in there. Congrats on the kid D + J . So what we thinking here? Internet able by age 3 and a full blown code monkey genius by age 4? Okay, sorry - I maybe over-estimated a little bit... :P |
Still waiting (but not patiently!!!) Written by YorkshireLizzie on 2007-10-09 06:33:58 Hi Everyone!! I am soo jealous! I am still waiting for my copy of ADB to come through! (sob!). I have seen the clip a million times and am basically chomping at the bit to get my hands on it! Its on back order and has now been shipped but our british posties have been on strike for a week already which is not helping at all! There are 9 of us all waiting and we are planning a get together at mine to watch as soon as it arrives. (I can almost taste the champagne now! - us girlies know how to welcome pure genius into the world!) Speaking of welcoming into the world - Congrats Dave and Jane on Sebastian Flynn!!! The Gals and I send you all the very best wishes and big kiss! |
Written by leechbabe on 2007-10-08 07:49:46 Got my copy of ADB via amazon.com last week. Just waiting for some child free time to actually watch it. Darn kids, messing up important DVD viewing times. |

Way behind...... Written by ladyc3 on 2007-10-04 00:53:36 Hi David and Jane and Everyone else! Man I am behind.... .Sorry D haven't gotten the DVD yet and it looks like it will not be until next year...funds are very very very tight! Which mean my Stargate fix is via the DVD's I currently own and nothing on cable ($$$). I hope Atlantis will be back for another season...they would be foolish not too! Happy Happy Halloween! Peace! an 8 year old fan of McKay! Written by MicheleBlue on 2007-10-03 19:31:46 sci-fi friday isn't the same without sg-1 in the line-up, but i'm SO glad that Atlantis is still on the air!!! *fingers crossed for season 5* Everyone in our house (well, the 3 of us anyway) are Atlantis fans, which includes my 8 year old daughter who is "in love" with McKay LOL I'm not sure if i should be worried? ;-) |
Old and Gray!!! Written by PB_Gal on 2007-10-02 07:08:44 OMG!!! I saw Joe's Blog!!! Does Jane know that that's what you're going to look like when you're old and gray!!! hehe nice going! you weren't kidding when you said they were piling on the prosthetics! |
Written by ruggerdavey on 2007-10-01 23:22:30 Finally signed up for Netflix and moved the film to the top of the queue as soon as I realized it was available. I absolutely loved it - and I loved the commentary and all the extras as well. It was really brilliant and hilarious, and it was a great way to relax after a long day of teaching the kiddos. Keep up the great work! (I'm definitely ordering my own copy now.) |
Yay! More ADB and SGA too! Written by phynyxoffyre on 2007-10-01 22:36:57 My second copy of ADB has shipped, finally. Deep Discount DVD ran out after the release. This copy is going to make trip to Buffalo, NY for a friend and I'm in the process of hunting down more copies to start passing out to friends and family. Again, David and all involved, fantastic movie! 'Adrift' was wonderful and I'm eagerly waiting for Friday and the next episode. |
Cool Written by Snow_Leopard on 2007-10-01 17:29:29 I love the interview in TV guide it was very informative. ADB passed. My brother loved it and pointed out a couple of things I missed. Also, I got a couple of my best friends to watch it who truly enjoyed it and plan on buying their own copy now. Thanks again David for doing an assume job. s

Hey, Nielsen for Oct 1 Written by watcher652 on 2007-10-01 14:55:37 ADB is ranked #2! And a certain scifi actor on the #3 ranked show is at #5 on the personality list. Congratulations! |
Spreading Atlantis Love... Written by muffin_nuffin on 2007-10-01 11:45:34 I have tried to persuade my friends to watch Stargate. Even the Physics students amongst my aquintences won't watch it. I'm in a 'Lantis Bubble all by myself. The weather is grotty and nasty in England too. You are not alone :P Have seen Adrift, thanks to a friend who's in the States and sent it to me. Hooray! My brother rang me as soon as we'd watched it going 'OHMYGOD WOW!' Im really looking forward to the rest of the season, but I shall watch the episode on Sky One anyway so the ratings can have my vote I wouldn't want to see Atlantis go. Thank you! |
Sic Mars on Space Channel Written by nanook660 on 2007-10-01 10:22:50 I love ADB watched it many times. Someday I'll be able to watch Season 4 whenever goofy Space Channel decides to start run it. Looks like it is Downloading time. Wish I could see Season 4. The joys of living in Canada. Well there are Season 1,2,3 to occupy my time. I still have that to satisfy my cravings. Hey dGeek may I borrow Mars? I want to sic him on Canada's Space Channel. They will not tell me when they are going to start airing Season 4. They told me they start airing Season 3 in January. They are still airing Season 1 and 2. I love these Seasons but everyone who is a fan already has Seasons 1,2,3. So can I borrow Mars? Actually can you give Mars the command to sic em? We Canadians Fans who knows when we get to see Season 4. Probably 2009. Well there is always Downloading the Episodes. We resort to this because of that darn Space Channel and since we have this channel the CRTC will not allow Space Channel into our country. The rats Fran |
ADB AND ATLANTIS Written by crazy4dh on 2007-10-01 08:57:50 I've seen ADB countless times already and crack up every time! My friend drove from Indiana to my house in Kentucky to watch it with me and then made a standing date (she doesn't have cable - HORROR!) every Friday night to watch You...I mean Atlantis. Good luck on V 2.0 - Some very good advice was given on the forum if you can convince Jane to take it. Does v20 get the stubborn streak from mom or dad?

getting your lines down Written by fumblesmcstupid on 2007-09-30 23:33:39 I know that you might have been asked this over and over, but how the hell do you remember all the techno babble that you and Mr. Nylk and Ms. Tapping say? p.s I get ADB in the morning. It's ganna be cool seeing you as someone else other than a creepiziod who kills little girls (without a trace) p.s.s I watched Adrift like 10 times. |
ADB and "Adrift"! What a week! Written by crazymom on 2007-09-30 22:59:26 Adrift was terrific, and I got to watch ADB twice this week! Tomorrow I'll try to cap it all off with logging in here on the computer at the police station, since I'm officially out of training and won't have anybody looking over my shoulder now. Not as often, anyway... |
Hey Nielsen Written by starleet on 2007-09-30 21:21:56 I just logged onto that site and signed on. But Stargate Atlantis is #3 on the chart having a 66% move for the day. Way to go squirrels! null |
Good Luck! Written by ladyniko on 2007-09-30 19:46:34 I watched the ep live at my parents' place Friday night, taking advantage of their HI LCD TV in the living room of the condo...... :D Good ep! I was screaming at the TV going, "NO WAY!" in parts. (Plus, I was trying to do laundry & had to run out of the room to deal w/ that on commercial breaks. ) Can't wait to see next week! I really hope that Sproglet waits until you're out of the make-up before they decide to make their appearance, not during the process of putting it on or just when you finish! Let's hope that Murphy & the Sproglet don't have that much of an evil sense of timing........ :D As for inducing Sproglet on "shedding" - well, there's always what created Sproglet in the first place. Other than that, walking, working the area between the thumb & index finger, the Achilles tendon region on the back of the ankle, and the feet, I don't remember what the reflexology zones are - sorry! And, even then, sometimes those don't work when you've got a stubborn baby. Good luck all around! |
^^ Written by DanielleS on 2007-09-30 19:15:32 I saw "Adrift" with my friend on Friday. OMG what a good ep! I was like soo happy. I also have ADB! I'm so proud of your accomplishment! Great Job David! I was cracking up the whole time. I bet your throat hurt after all that screaming lols. Be well! ~DanielleS P.s- *waves* Hiya Jane! Hiya Mars! ^^ |
Written by Lyah on 2007-09-30 18:43:06 I just watched "Adrift" and it was definitely worth the wait. I went to join Team Stargate again today but even though there is now an option for Canadian provinces I still cannot join. |
Written by Shawna on 2007-09-30 18:12:58 Prosthetics? Okay, you've got my attention. Loved "Adrift". Y'all are brilliant. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this whole thing with Weir plays out. Though it amuses me to see just how apt the Ford comparisons were. But that's fine by me. I thought Ford was a more interesting character after the whole...thing. |
Dads, Neilsen, and the premiere Written by seattlemeg on 2007-09-30 13:41:26 I know my house was definitely watching it!. Yes, great banter with Zelenka, and I just loved McKay standing up to Sheppard like that. And hey! Chuck got to keep his name! Although I thought it was hysterical, What Sheppard said after the panel fizzed. thumbs up on the preview! Come on, we'd love to see a pic of your dad! We only know how much you resemble Kate. Do you take after your dad or your mum? I'm betting v2.0 has those great blue eyes... I couldn't get on Neilsen either, server timed out. I think the squirrels are rabid over it. |
Working on it Written by Aten on 2007-09-30 13:16:37 I have a friend here who watched SG-1, but I can't persuade her to watch SGA. She hasn't got her own TV though, so does that count? Still counting down the days until I get my free ride out to Best Buy. There's so much I need there, including ADB on DVD. My life is too work-filled for me to be of any use to Team Stargate, which is an enormous shame since I love this grassroots marketing so much. |
Written by Scary on 2007-09-30 12:03:54 I am still waiting patiently for my ADB DVD to arrive. Hopefully sometime over the next two weeks. Seriously should it take over a month for the DVD to be mailed to CANADA. Loved the interview and ADRIFT. Loved McKay's comment about sucking at ASTERIODS. Love the banter between you and Zelenka. Itis great to see how that relationship has evolved over the seasons. |
Written by zwild1 on 2007-09-30 11:54:31 I can't stop watching my ADB dvd with all it's special features...it's a hoot! That Hey Neilson thing is great fun...I put my review in as well. Don't worry, Hewlett 2.0 is waiting to make a dramatic entrance into this world to show his/her talent and outshine daddy. |
JUST GOT DVD Written by APMC4CB on 2007-09-30 10:15:27 My DVD just arrrived on Friday. I had already seen it at the london screening, but couldn't wait to watch it again. So i watched the special features, and then the movie and then the movie again with audio comenterry! I LOVE IT! My flat mate is going to watch it tonight and i will see what he thinks..... Its a bit of a test as he has never watched stargate and is a bit anti-geek. He also works in fim so tends to be a bit over critical...... but we will see! |
Written by sueKay on 2007-09-30 09:34:58 Finally got the DVD last night! I'd already seen ADB in London, but my mum was eager to see it, and she loved it! I think my next door neighbour will be borrowing it tonight...she'll be getting a copy at her birthday :D |

re; ADB Written by angels21k on 2007-09-30 08:45:25 It arrived yesterday and I wasless than happy to find it wouldn't play on my multiregional machine despite owning and happily playing SGA; Eureka and lots of other region 1s. All the damned machine said was 'Not formatted...etc, etc. Prissy voiced too. Thank heavens or my laptop! Loved it. So funny and David - your physical humour equals the verbal. Pythonesque. (Although I could foresee baby H having a concussed daddy. Prenez guarde.) A |
Four more converts Written by rosiewook on 2007-09-30 08:33:57 One ADB party down, one more to go. Out of the first party all four said they were going to pick up a copy as they loved it so much. And these were all mundanes who don't even know what SGA is; although they're now curious. I think that's pretty fantastic! And poor Jane. I can't imagine how miserable she must feel, right now. I would be suspicious of Joe M. He might have put a whammy on her in order for your schedule to stay in place. You guys hang in there. In a couple of weeks, you'll all be safely huddled away enjoying a well-deserved break. |
WERE THE NUMBERS GOOD? Written by whovian on 2007-09-30 08:11:54 I hope and pray the numbers were good! I ordered everyone to watch it that I know! I have TWO BIG FURRIES (I think both bigger than Mars) to threaten them with. I think my pups really CAN lick you to death. And they have dragon breath, to boot. I was sooooo happy to see Atlantis back on the air. Can't wait for the rest of season four. AND WE NEED SEASON FIVE!!! |
Written by Becky S. on 2007-09-30 07:35:43 Enjoyed "Adrift" on Friday night. Very, very good episode. My boyfriend has a slightly less happpy view of it since Torri/Weir is his favorite on the show. He's made his prediction as to what will happen in the next show and we'll see if he's right. Actually, since because of the time it's on and the time I have to be at work every other week - he'll see the whole thing and I'll only see just over half of it until I can get it on iTunes. But from me: "Very well done" to everyone in front of and behind the camera. Four hours of prosthetics...How much of that is removal time? I hope they will get the application speed up a bit for you. They usually do once they get to doing it a few times. Good luck with it all. Hewlett 2.0 My understanding is that babies decide when they will become members of society. But I hope that it is soon so you and Jane can have the wait over with and begin the enjoyment of watching him/her change everyday and seeing the world though the eyes of a child. |

happy happy me Written by the_spike on 2007-09-30 07:30:48 Finally got ADB from Amazon.com on Tuesday and laughed through my morning. Chris Judge *rocks*. The extras were excellent, especially the repeated shots of you falling on your head. *g* Also? Adrift killed me ded with fannish happiness. All my SGA needs fulfilled for the week. Thanks and good vibes for you and Jane and baby-to-come. -spike |

Written by NethDugan on 2007-09-30 04:15:22 Adrift was fantastic, and I promise to watch it on TV as soon as I can (though, I doubt I'll do much good where I am) and be very loud if SF do something we don't like (or don't do something we like, as the case may be). As others have said, you and Joe were brilliant on it, the interaction between the two characters and the massive tension in several parts. One of the best bits in the episode (and not just because Rodney used John's first name, though it's about time and well used, me thinks). And David (Nykl) was pretty darn good - hell you all were (the number of people raving about Jason). So, congrats to all of you from, well, anyone who's seen it really. If this is any indication of what the rest of the series is like, it might even beat S3 as the best one ever (which I wasn't so sure was possible). And good luck with Hewlett 2.0 and convincing him to leave the safe and warm enviroment of mummy |
Written by Zerocool on 2007-09-30 03:13:17 My ADB DvD arrived in the UK yesterday. Needless to say I stayed up most of last night watching the extras and director commentary. The very best of luck with Hewlett 2.0 and with that it must be useful to have a dad like yours about at this time. They say good things come to those who wait |
Written by leighisme on 2007-09-30 03:08:25 More feedback: lovedlovedloved ADB! I haven't seen the first ep yet. I'm in Toronto, and the movie network doesn't show it until Monday. |
Totally McKay Written by ZoniDuck on 2007-09-30 01:37:25 Thanks for the link to the TVGuide interview, David. I have to say, I laughed pretty hard at He's the guy at the party who says, "Does this look infected to you?" because that is totally McKay! Speaking of that guy, I loved "Adrift", and I think you all did some fantastic work, especially you and Joe. You guys did a great job with the fight over Weir's treatment, and the subsequent apology. Oh, and if you think of it, and you happen to see Joe, please let him know that he really killed in the scene where Keller tells Sheppard Weir's prognosis. And best of luck to you and Jane with the very entrenched little 2.0. I have to agree with the others who have said that he/she is just timing things for the end of Dad's filming schedule. |
Great Start!!! Written by greenrocks84 on 2007-09-30 01:14:45 Great start to Season 4 with Adrift! I had to watch it both times Sci Fi showed it to soak in all the good stuff! Loved the never ending tension, aweosme special effects and somre really great perfomances from everyone. Suffice it to say I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the season. Fingers crossed for that Season 5 pick up! |
Hey, David! Written by watcher652 on 2007-09-30 01:13:53 My friends and I watched ADB before Atlantis last night. I loved hearing my friends laugh! I’ve seen it multiple times myself but it was great to see it on a larger, brighter screen than I own. BTW, I shamelessly turn the ADB dvds face forward when I find them at the store. At one place, the price label covered your face. Ack! Couldn’t do anything about that. “Adrift” was a great episode! The jumper scene was fantastic! After all the years on Atlantis, it looks like McKay can fly in a straight line. And the Sheppard and McKay scenes were wonderful. Word must be getting around for Hey Nielsen. I had no trouble getting to the site Thursday and Friday but I can’t access the site now. Their servers must be overwhelmed. We’re all looking forward to H20. Tell Jane we send her our best. |
Finally, I'm going to get to watch 'Ad Written by phynyxoffyre on 2007-09-30 01:07:06 Prosthetics...interesting. Now, I wonder what that is about. And I still have not seen the first episode of SGA! (Work, why don't you understand that having Friday nights off is important!) Which is going to be remedied right now. |
Written by telpethoron on 2007-09-30 00:23:49 4 hours of prosthetics? Curiouser and curiouser... Still loving last night's episode - I could have sworn McKay and Sheppard were about to get in their first brawl. If looks could kill, Rodney would have been a smoking pile of cinders. Spreading the ADB love on both MySpace and LiveJournal as much as possible, trying to get the word out. Some of my friends have already purchased copies of the DVD, and have nothing but praise for it. |
Written by whatsername34 on 2007-09-29 23:55:05 I just watched "A Dog's Breakfast" tonight and it was a delight! I laughed until I cried several times. I can not wait to actually own a copy. Darn poorness. I will have it soon, and it shall take a place of honor next to my other fave films that are sure to make me laugh, like "The Meaning of Life" Prosthetics? Oh wow. Still in shock over last night..I am one of those who avoid too many spoilers so, just wow....although just saw a spoiler I just don't even want to think about. eep......why did I watch! LOL! Again, thanks for making ADB, it is truly wonderful! Now I am making all my friends watch it. |
Written by WolfenM on 2007-09-29 23:52:06 Tell Jane we're all thinking of her, poor dear! And we're eagerly awaiting a twitter from you announcing 2.0's arrival! *Goes back to watching "Adrift" again.* My review of it for Pink Raygun is seven pages so far -- my editor there is gonna kill me! XD |
Written by highonscifi on 2007-09-29 23:40:28 Hmmmm...prosthetics, eh? Now I'm REALLY curious!! Loved, loved, LOVED "Adrift"!!! The scenes between you and Joe were the best EVER! The CGI was amazing! And...did I actually hear McKay say "I'm sorry"????? Wow!!! My ears may never be the same! Season 4 is starting out strong!! And I am very excited about it! Little 2.0 seems to be very stubborn...think he or she takes after anyone in particular? And my copy of ADB is going to wear out from overuse! Just the most fun movie!! |
HeyNielson is tough to access! Written by Sweeneybird on 2007-09-29 23:39:23 I've had a lot of trouble getting there today but was finally able to get in by typing http://www.heynielsen.com/ into the browser directly. My opinion post on SGA is here: http://www.heynielsen.com/opinion/view/1624/ |
Written by MdGateFan on 2007-09-29 23:35:54 Maybe 2.0 is waiting until Daddy will be home 24/7? Or at until can least can spend more time with Mummy at the hospital and not have to go to work. I watched the episode last night and Wow...I thought it was great. |
Written by animallover on 2007-09-29 23:29:43 I hope that once you have finished SGA season 4 you can have a bit of a rest. You will need it when the baby comes. Prosthetics!! You have me curious now! Best wishes for you, Jane, Baby Hewlett & Mars! Take care & happiness always! |
Prosthetics you say?? Hmmm.... Written by LogicSequence on 2007-09-29 23:20:14 Very interestering... IS there an elderly McKay in the works? Wait, they're not gonna buggify you like they did joe eh? Last man... Last man... I'm thinking time travely / time pass-ish. Watched Adrift twice last night, what a great premiere! Great job, i especially loved the character moments you had with Joe, some of my favorite scenes between you two. And thank TPTB we finally got a 'John' out of our Rodney, long time coming! Little Hewlett 2.0 is taking his or her time it seems eh? Taking after daddy already? Hope you don't get the call 2 minutes after you finish your 4 hours of prosthetic application next week! Keeping you guys in my thoughts for a happy healthy "shedding" . |
Written by DrArchie on 2007-09-29 23:05:09 I live in Australia which means we won't get the latest SGA till maybe five years from now. iTunes it is. Good luck with the "convincing Hewlett 2.0 to shed Mummy" :P Hope all goes well! |
