Spent the week with pretty much the entire Atlantis team, who were in every day setting the scene for the big "Kindred" two-parter. The stunt and FX work on Friday was impressive and I've got to say there's some great fight stuff coming up...though not for me surprisingly. The fight choreography that I saw Jason rehearsing looks great. Seems he'll be going toe to toe with an SG1 classic, and I can't wait to see THAT go down! Heard the pitch for the season cliff-hanger, which sounds wild! Trust me when I say that it's definitely going to get people's attention...from the tidbits I've heard anyway! That said Mallozzi could just be messing with me...he likes to do that.
Damnit Jim, it's true! And I'll make no "Bones" about it! McKay would be the perfect Mccoy in the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie...and it works perfectly with the Stargate Atlantis season which stops shooting in October...as far as I'm concerned it's a no-brainer...now I'm just going to hold my breath, sit by the phone and wait for it to ring! Hello, J.J? ;-)

My sister and I have been comtemplating (sp?) an entire SGA Star Trek movie and we've got it mostly figured out. McKay as McCoy, Beckett as Scotty, Grodin as Spock, Teyla as Uhura, Sheppard as Kirk (obviously), Ronan as some bad-ass alien dude, and Zelenka as Chekov with Weir dreaming the whole thing up. I think it could work...
And I love trampolines, but I usually end up hurting myself... which sometimes only makes them that much more fun. And you got yourself a netted-in one, so perfect!
And as for the video clip--I took High School Spanish, so I just about died I was laughing so hard. I didn't get the video the first time I watched the second clip so I'm going to go rewatch it WITH video and see if that helps. lol
I preordered ADB about a month ago and am eagerly awaiting its coming in the mail along with SGA season three. I can't wait! So excited. And I cannot WAIT for SGA season 4. Squee!

So I was babysitting half of my usual 'crew' (a 5 mo. old girl) and decided to watch some TV while she napped. And what do I happen upon? Jekyll, and not only that, but their doing some kind of free 'teaser' of BBC. So I watched maybe 20 minutes of it (it was pretty awesome) and the baby woke up. So I took her back into the bedroom I was watching TV in, and she started watching it. It occurred to me, maybe I shouldn't be watching it with children in the room seeing as it's a dark show. So I turned on Spongebob and she started screaming. I turned it back to Jekyll, and she calmed down again. This kid is a good judge of entertainment, it seems. |

Well, I was showing ADB to my hubby yesterday, and was pondering (then) about whether to buy the DVD since I already have it on my video iPod and can watch it on my TV with my techno-thingy converter. (Can you tell I've worked in multimedia for almost 20 years?)
But lots of cool documentaries and other stuff? Man...you make me wanna spend money like you were someone cool enough to spend money on!
Gonna show ADB to a few other friends too, and am talking it up whenever I can.

I've been to one baby shower in my life. Even though I wasn't the only kid there (because I still was a kid at the time), it was a bit...how should I put it? Weird? I wish there'd been a trampoline. Still, the last time I went on one of that size, the other two kids on it sent me flying a good six feet up! |

Trampolines are fun I bloodied my nose on one before but it was worth the back flip I did lol. Baby Showers aren't all that bad lol who was all there? Im not really sure we have baby showers over this side of the pond or bridal showers come to that matter! I think we're missing out on something. As I understand it they are both a gathering for ladies hell bent on imparting stories of their birth experiences/ wedding day horrors. Men at a baby shower? Next thing you'll be convincing us that the guy is actually expected in the room during the birth

ZOMG, Harry Potter. Those two books made me cry the most. & the 5th one, because of Sirius. But the 7th one...whoo, absolutely fantastic, you'll be surprised at what happens. But overall, other than the last 2 books, Prisoner of Azkaban's my favorite. Mainly because Remus Lupin is made of win & chocolate. Enjoy the last two books! |

Having guys in baby showers is like having them in an observation room - all the baby talks happens there (including the Too Much Information pieces - even for me, new aunt of a 5 months old)and the ladies sure are watching for their reaction.
Just discorvering all your work on this website and I see I got a lot to catch on! I've been a SG1 fan for a while and Atlantis, funnily enough, didn't end up being a show I wanted to watch because I sincerely truly deeply hated McKay (for the 1.5 episode I watched while zapping).
But now he's my favorite caracter (yes yes, even Joe's hair can't beat that) - one of the tastier caracter of the serie actually, thx to the acting you make David to make him look so arrogant, so full of himself yet so funny and vulnerable.
Having this blog open is sure a terrific gift to fan to be able to get very fresh news, learn about and from you and share with you on your work and life. So thank you!! It IS really fun going through all this stuff.
And this is how I learned about this ADB movie of yours and from the previews, can't wait to see it! Must have been a really fun and thrilling project to do. I will also do my best to make an official squirrel out of myself (shouldn't be to hard - I am a sucker for that kind of movie).

Where I live, baby showers are still a woman's thing - no guys come to them. As for the games, I hate the games that are played at showers, I would have joined you on the trampoline. Much more fun in my view. But glad you enjoyed your time there.
Season 4 does sound better and better all th time - unless a ceratin Mr. Mallozzi is messing with everybody...and I wouldn't put it past him ;-)

In my experience baby showers are a lot freakier than that, with weird 'guess the baby's sex' and 'measure the mum's belly!' games. Glad Jane's was slightly less kooky - I swear if someone ever tries to measure MY belly, pregnant or not, they're in for a slapping!
FoTC is brilliant, isn't it? I'm so glad those guys are finally getting some well-deserved world-wide love, they were in Melbourne for the comedy festival a few years back and are just the sweetest guys ever. Jemaine even gave me a free CD (perhaps he was trying to take me out for a kebab? guess we'll never know) Check out his movie 'Eagle Vs. Shark' too, I'm sure it'll have the same charm as the conchords

It's hard to pull off a good "couples" shower. It somehow still ends up with the girls giggling and cooing over all the cute baby stuff and the guys huddled together trying to think of manly topics to counteract the estrogen. A bit like reverting back to junior high dances.

Last King of Scotland was brilliant. I really enjoyed it. Not entirely sure how you got through a second viewing of 1941, though. You're brave!

Ooh, Harry Potter - it is my humble opinion that the end of HP7 is the best ending to anything, ever. Seriously.
I heard Jekyll was good, but I haven't seen any of it. Have you heard the rumours that James Nesbitt is going to be the next Doctor?

Wow, you have been busy! We noticed you'd been a bit quiet the last few days . Glad you had fun at Rachel's shower! That poor child looks scared though... *gives the look* What did you say to him? Hmm? J/K The trampoline looks fun! Kinda orb like, now imagine if it was springy on all sides! Talk about not drinking soda beforehand!
Heh, Mallozzi messes with you too? It's nice to see he doesn't just do it to us blog readers! Damn him and his cryptic yet tantalizing responses!
I'm getting excited about the ADB DVD! Only 5 weeks away! ADB and Atlantis season 3 all on one day, W00T! No sleep that night it seems. AND south park season 10 comes out this Tuesday, AND so does Serenity the 2 disc collector's set! DVD-O-RAMA in the next few weeks.
I didn't care for the hills have eyes that much either. Though it reminded me very much of Hostel, which was another of those "torture porn" movies. Well, at least in that one the main character get's some revenge. It was less about suspense and shock and more about blood and gore... Gotta have a balance!
So did you check out Flash Gordon on SCIFI this weekend? I'm reserving judgment until i see a few more episodes. It seemed a bit... What's a good word, not corny... Well yea, a little too far on the corny side, and i kept thinking to myself, how can the stretch this out for more than one season? But we'll see, i've been pleasantly surprised before.
Oh, and Star Trek.... YOU HAVE TO! How uber cool would it be to see you as McCoy? I mean come on! You ARE perfect for the role! He's dead Jim! Not too many lines either! Though i am a bit scared regarding the rumors of the movie's plot... A prequel? Young Kirk and Spock? Careful J.J.!
Anyways, nice to hear from you as always, take some time for yourself! Relax! Take a load off! Can't save the universe if you're out of energy!

Are you really trying to get the part of Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the new ST movie? In a way, I hope you do! I've always been a huge fan of the original series.
And I'm glad you enjoyed the secret ritual of the baby shower. I usually try to hold back from sporking out an eye when I have to attend one of those things. There's only so many party games you cam play. ;-) |

front, Fox has some interviews lined up for me next week to help gear up for for the DVD launch on Sept. 18th. Looks like I'll have to do that from Terminal city as that's where we're shooting next week! We've seen the "rough" version of the DVD and it's beautiful! They've done a fantastic job with the box layout and design and the menus are simply divine! Of course there's tons of behind-the-scenes footage in the four (yes four!) fantastic documentary pieces that Jane put together...I knew she was good, but this stuff makes her officially the queen of cool! This is must-see stuff for you die-hard Stargate fans and just plain fun and informative for for the rest of you out there.
