We're off to Hawaii tomorrow and Jane has purposely booked us in somewhere without Internet or cell phones or television, so I'm not sure how much twittering, posting or promoting is going to be happening in the next week! Anyway I'm leaving it up to you all to keep me informed as to how things are going and who's talking about us over the next little while...so, as long as I don't get eaten by sharks, or mistakenly harpooned as a rogue albino whale while snorkeling, or fall asleep in the sun and am reduced to ashes...I look forward to catching up with you all again on our return.

Ok the new Harry Potter movie is a must see, they left some things out from the book but thats normal. You don't get a good look at any of the centaurs, that just made me so mad I could have spat, which I didn't. No computer, or cell phone for a whole week!!! I would die!!! :O but Hawaii is still a good place to chill and get away from every thing, have fun with that. Tell Joe that I am also jealous of him getting an iphone!!! Just wanted to pop in and say that I hope you and Jane have a great time in Hawaii. I went to Maui about 4 years ago! It's beautiful! If you end up on Maui and bicycle down the volcano take a piece of advice from a MySpace friend. Take a flashlight if you do a sunrise biking or else you could possibly wander off the path and break a bone like my brother did. Please have fun and take care of yourself and Jane. A broken McKay isn't much fun, although I don't think a broken Hewlett would be much fun either. :-p Have fun and look forward to hearing about it on here when you return!!

I love Hawaii. I've been twice (maui both times) and I wanna go back again and again and again!!! You will have fun and probably get sucked into the "Aloha Spirit" like everyone else does when they get there. It's like legal tranqs or something. I swear the air is drugged. But's it's all good! I stress ALL THE TIME about EVERYTHING but not in Hawaii. Okay, now I REALLY wanna go back. Enjoy! |

Well it depends on what island your on. I've been to Maui three times. I was just there in April. Sorry guys but whale season is over for now, so you don't have to worry about the harpooning thing!LOL! Lahanina, so many things to see and do there.The road to Hana, Iao valley, Halaeakala Crater, over ten thousand feet high. Diving off of Molokini. Did not see any sharks, but was a fifty feet down when a whale started singing! It was just incrediable! The Atlantis submarine. It holds thirty-eight guest and a crew of five. You'll got down about one hundred and thirty-three feet. Boy, did I get some great pictures. I also I got to go to the Big Island of Hilo and Kona. Volcano National Park is mind blowing. Watching the lava flow into the ocean!WOW! Each Island has something different to offer. My friend Sandra, who has taken me on these trips stay at a B&B Old Lahanina House. Sherry and her children have made us apart of their family. David it's not hard to spot the Canadians or Brits. Their the neon red crispy critters! I'm from Florida and we see it all the time. You and Jane take care of yourself. Keep in mind even with sunblock 2000 you can burn in a very short time. Mahalo and Aloha. You'all  |

Let us know if you see it and don't scare the little fishies! Do apply lots of sunscreen and have fun.

Sadly it's true. I just went on my long vacation about a week ago and now one of my best internet friends is off on hers right now. In both cases, big news happened while we were out. The trouble is that I came home to concerns while she'll be coming home to wonders. Not fair!

One of the best things we did in Hawaii was swim at Hanauma Bay, Oahu.

It is an inactive volcano that has part of the walls washed away and it is absolutely beautiful. There are coral reefs and beautiful fish and gorgeous water views. We brought frozen peas and my husband threw them between my legs and the fish darted in and ate the peas which totally freaked me out. I then climbed up on my husband to get away from the fish...lol! He is such a stinker.
If you are going to Kauai you should see:
Waimea Canyon, Kauai...very beautiful...like a small Grand Canyon...gorgeous colors.

and take a helicopter ride in Kauai to see the Na Pali coast. (spectacular green mountains going down to the water) I think the Jurassic Park films coastline shots were taken there. You can't get to them unless you take a boat or helicopter. The view from the helicopter has to be phenomenal.

Well, I know you aren't staying on Oahu, that's just one big city and it's impossible not to be connected there.
Hawaii is such a lovely place, all lush and green and splashes of bright, bright color. Warm blue seas and sparkling waterfalls. Spectacular sunsets (or sunrises, if you can get up that early). Rainbows and soft breezes. I hope you stay somewhere that has a black sand beach available. Walking on the sand, you can hear it "bark".
Take photos and share when you get back. You're allowed that bit of tech, aren't you?
Wear extra sunscreen. You're closer to the equator and the sun is stronger. Watch out for the ever present pineapple.
It's not whale season so you're safe there. I think you're closer to dolphin size anyway. 8-)

Does Jane realize how serious a condition Internetosis (enter-neh-tow-siss) is? I mean, does she know she's going to have to deal with the withdrawals this whole trip!? I mean, the lack of EM fields buzzing around you alone is bound to cause symptoms! Sneak that cell phone with you in a shoe, at least you can turn it on and get a quick fix! Meh, I'm sure you'll find a computer somewhere! Those dgeek senses will be tingling every time you pass an electronics store . But the no TV thing, that's another bummer! What's a vacation without internet and TV!?
I look forward to the goofy "Hewlett in Hawaii" pics upon your return! Have fun lounging on the emerald shores while we toil away here in the mainland... Try not to think of us poor worker bees as you get sumptuous massages on those white sand beaches... Oh, do avoid the sharks though, can't save the universe from a shark's belly .
Most importantly though, HAVE FUN David. Really, have a good time, relax, take a load off and enjoy your time with Jane! You deserve it all too much. Have a nice alcoholic beverage in a coconut glass on the beach for me! Don't forget our souvenirs!
