Ahh yes words written on the page take on a life of their own long after we have spoken and moved onto other things  ! I read the blogs that were and then were not and I didn't think they were that controversial?? Please don't tell me MGM or another corp slapped you in the back of the head for your well founded reaction?? That would be seriously disturbing! Hope things get ironed out in the end. Let them fear the power of the blog...Waaahaaa

Once againg you prevail over hardship, 2 years and loads of money tends to make anyone a little wooohooo...
I'm happy that the "Lions" and "Foxes" were able to talk with you and provide a suitable solution, almost every mistake can be chalked up to miscommunication!
I still can't wait untill the DVD is realeased and hope that everyone will be able to enjoy it, I will send off a non-rabid e-mail to both the "Lion" and the "fox" to express such wishes.

You should break into the warehouse at night, grab a few boxes of 'A.D.B.' and then sell it international from the proverbial trunk of your car. Or just send your Squirrels to make a calculated and behind-the-scenes takeover of Amazon.com, making it Hewlett.com where only movies and books, etc. you deem worthy are sold. ha ha. |

Yeah, I hope no squirrel ever went for the bite on MGM and Fox. Mad as we may be about the no-international release, a serious and intelligent letter of request will get us much farther then a rabid insulting letter. But I'm sure we all know that!
Great to hear Jane's back! At least now she'll make sure you don't put nails in yourself with the nail gun.
And of course Mars' the Alpah dog. He's also the star of your film. He's just kind enough to "pretend" you're his owner! ;-) |

Have to say that now boyfy has offered me the use of his credit card ( ) i'm a little less rabid myself. Hee
But that said, still gonna badger Amazon and the like (in the politest possible way of course - i am British after all!). This film just HAS to be seen by everyone! (plus i think our region-free DVD player is on it's last legs  )

I'm cheap too but having not been able to make any screenings, I plan on buying the download next week to see this, and I already have the DVD on order so a coupon won't do me any good but that's ok- I'm happy to $$ support this project, looking at it as funding the next one |

Glad to hear everything's being sorted out. I'm obviously very tempted to buy the download when it comes, but it had better include one heck of a coupon. I mean, I don't want to seem like a bad squirrel (and I did make a trek to a screening and saw it twice), but I'm also kinda cheap and just don't feel like essentially getting charged twice for the same product.
In response to Kdvb1's remark about "Re your brains" I agree that it's a hillarious song that should be checked out. It's actually the one I've got on my myspace right now. It seems like zombies have been following me everywhere. That song, "Marvel Zombies" (where the Marvel characters all get zombified...check it out if you haven't and are into comics), extra-ing on a zombie movie...I even had a zombie dream recently. Oh, well, zombies are clasic. Can't wait to get more details. |

I had a feeling I should wait a couple days before emailing everyone. Let me tell the story of the time I temped for Amazon about ten years ago.
I was offered a ridiculous pay rate as a temp. I showed up (on time) and found myself in a waiting area of that former hospital on Beacon Hill. They had the oddest unfinished wood desks made of 2x4s and plywood (they'd just moved in). There several adult business people waiting politely. A woman scheduled for an interview. Several suppliers.
There were two college girls at the two desks. They ignored us completely as they chatted and argued over what music to play, and we were alternately blasted with hard rock/punk (the girl with the nose ring) and jazz (the girl in the sweater set). They made no attempt to find out why we were there or to contact the persons in charge of us. Attempts to ask them to do work felt like an imposition.
I waited 15... 20... 30 minutes. Finally, I asked the girl in the sweater set if she could contact such-and-so whom I was supposed to be working for.
Neither of the two knew who this was. Apparently they had no employee lists either. With an exasperated sigh they attempted to locate the person in question (I exchanged an amused look with some of the other adults), suggesting I had the wrong name. Possibly, I said, in which case the temp agency sent me to the wrong person. Do you have anyone in HR? They said, good idea, and contacted HR. And got voicemail.
15 minutes later... HR knew nothing about me. They didn't know the person in question either. The girls shrugged and told me that my contact would just "show up sooner or later."
An hour went by.
In the meantime I was treated to the cavalcade of Amazon.com. A rush of employees came in at 10am with the careless manner of college students. The suppliers (who'd been waiting longer than me) finally met with a girl who was no more than 24 years old, a manager, breathlessly apologetic. They looked amused. The interviewee was early for her appointment but now it was well after and, yes, no show there either. She took it well, feeling that if they sucked this badly they really did need someone with experience. We joked about Amazon.com's hiring practice of requesting SAT scores from adults.
An hour and a half went by. The interviewee went to her appointment feeling very confident.
Finally, I returned to the desk, feeling as though I didn't want to interrupt the girls' conversation, however, I was on the clock and I didn't think Amazon wanted to pay me to sit in the waiting room.
They called HR, who still didn't know who I was, but finally a young harried-looking someone showed up. I no longer quite remember the excuse. She'd forgotten I was coming today? She'd meant to postpone the assignment but forgot to call yesterday?
"Anyhow, we're not ready for you, so why don't you camp out?" I was set in front of a computer and paid to dink around on the internet all morning.
Meanwhile, tech support had a log-in for me within in ten minutes.
Eventually after doing this long enough to feel guilty about it, I hunted down the young manager and suggested that she might have something for me to do in the interim. I, uh, had to wend my way through the toys, and there was a golden retriever wandering the halls looking as aimless as I felt.
I won't go into the rest of the story, but suffice it to say that I spent three-fifths of my time there playing on the internet, one-fifth doing low level work that I milked out of them, then the last fifth doing part of the job I was hired to do which they rushed to me in a panic -- and for which they paid me overtime because it was so late. In the end they ran out of money in the budget for a temp and ended up doing most of the work themselves.
I was very relaxed after that job, but... man.

Amazon is the corporate equivalent of the ditzy blonde. (No offense to the blondes out there.) I know several professional authors who have had all sorts of problems because of things revealed before their time or incorrect postings. It's only natural that they should mess this up, too. Consider yourself in an elite club.
I'm also glad that Jane is back to help keep you calm.

Of course I live in the Tampa bay area and it is the best of Florida. And...oh yeah... I would of course be free to be an extra...lol!

Seems that Today being my bday and all has spread bad karma thorought North America ! Good news is seems everything is turning itself back around and the last two hours of bday and bad karma have gone to curbside. Good to know the rabid troll was put away for a bit and hopefully will be used for reserve for a McKay tirade moment, those r so much fun. On the international release thing - does this mean Amazon wont send to outside of the US, or is only providing R1 DVDs? I have a R0 player so can play it, and if need be will purchase it through a close friend in the US (I wont be stopped dammit!), but if they will at least send to me, then thats a start. |

When dealing with the Big Guys, things like this tend to happen A LOT. Little monkey-trolls with their pesky wrenches tend to be quite intimidating to little net squirrels.
But I'm glad that you're at least getting answers, and fairly quickly, too. I've signed onto Amazon to receive the movie when it's released this fall. I'm so looking forward to seeing if my hunch about Chris' character is right!

I'm glad things are working out now. I think it's a pretty good sign that the responded to you as quickly as they did, because you're right, usually the big corps take a while to move. But that's a testiment to your will that you got them moving. Plus having a legion of dedicated groupies doesn't hurt either eh?
I'm glad that Jane's back in town, i know you've been missing her. You two lonely puppies didn't leave the house a mess for her eh?? EH? OH, and no hat!? Jane Jane, come on!
Had the SCIFI digital press tour today i see. I heard there was some good food!

I was excited to have found out about this movie. It's good to hear that things are going better than you'd thought. As you stated, large companies have a hard time changing direction, and an even more difficult time communicating.
