Thanks to you lot, A Dog's Breakfast hit #15 on the Amazon.com Bestselling DVD list, which makes us the #4 bestselling feature film, as most of the other bestselling DVD's are television series...Hey! We should make a Television series!...That's right! we're already working on that!...I think this kind of thing could help show everyone concerned that there's a market out there for "Starcrossed" don't you think?! Ah, my subtle hinting ways.
It seems that I've done what I do every hiatus and get sick as soon as it begins. I think my body just does the whole "I think I can, I think I can" little-engine-that-could thing until it sees the light at the end of the tunnel and gets the time to crash...so I'm crashing! That said, today it's walk-ies! with Lester and Maggie (and their owners who I don't think are ready for blog fame just yet so I'll only let you see one of their feet)
Last SG1 on Friday, hasn't really sunk in yet, partially because they've been shooting the movies in tandem with us on Atlantis (and screwing up our schedule in the process...I'm sure that Judge is behind it somehow, curse you Mr. Judge! ;-) Speaking of Judge, I've got to get the nerve up to ask him about the latest film role I've started writing for him...it's a pretty different kind of thing for him, but I think he'd be amazing at it and really chew up the scenery...hoping he goes for it... rather than turning on my violently, squashing me like a bug and leaving my crumpled form in the gutter beside some lonely road...happy thoughts, happy thoughts ;-)

I'm so excited about the DVD release of this movie... I'm not sure I have been this excited about a movie release EVER!... I'm happy as can be, but sad that I can't order it from Amazon.ca I have to do it from Amazon.com so I have to pay for the exchange.. Well since our little mighty Loonie has gained a lot of ground guess I can't complain.

Your body is definitely telling your brain it's time to slow things down a bit. Hopefully you'll be back in trim in short order.
Kudos to you and the crew of ADB - I'm looking forward to getting my copy of this when it comes out in September.
Watched "The Fountain", eh? I've heard good things about it, but never had the chance to check it out myself. I'll have to remedy that ASAP. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm sorry that our intensity has scared Lester and Maggies' humans. We're harmless. Really! But it was driving us a bit nuts (yuk, yuk) feeling like we'd missed something.
Sorry to hear that you came down with the creeping crud again. It is your body's way of forcing you to stop.
I think you should look at this as an improvement, though. You usually get sick the last week of filming. You held out a little longer, this time!
I downloaded ADB yesterday and am even more excited about Starcrossed and your next film (even if horror films freak me out). Congrats on all the hard-earned success! |

Lester looks like a basset hound and I was going to say that Maggie looks like a beagle but her legs look too short? Is she also a basset hound and has a bit of beagle-lish ears there?

the best way to get better is, get the warmest blanket you have, curl up with all of you goodies, cough drops, dayquil,
water or Sprite and get cozy and comfy and watch a ton of movies. Staying still gives your body time to heal.
Here are some suggestions:
GALAXY QUEST ( cause you live it )
WOLF CREEK ( cause all that Adrenalin will make your heart beat faster or something )
SPINAL TAP ( cause it is just funny )
and my favorite movie
LADYHAWKE ( kick ass sword fighting scene )

I know how you feel since I usually crash pretty hard the day after one of my competitions, so take my advice: sleep and lots of fluids! I suggest Naked Fruit Drinks, those things are fantastic at helping a person bounce back. |

Idiot. Take a break. Sleep, but not too much. Eat better. Exercise gently. Play with kids or animals. Drink lots of water. Drink harder stuff with sit-down meals. Spend time in a library, even if it's only looking at magazines. Reality tv does not count as quality time. Watch long-time favorite films and shows. Visit people who like you no matter what you do. Call people who love you no matter what you do.

I think you push yourself a bit farther than you realize and ,yes, when it gets the chance to slow down your body makes you take it easy. I thought that I had gone nuts and was the only person who didn't know who Lester and Maggie were. They are cute, well - not ugly, but Mars is more my sort of dog.

Sorry to hear your getting sick again, hope it's nothing too bad, just another cold? I get them all the time too, they seek me out and latch on for dear life. 24-hour bugs my @ss, they move in for a week or more with me. Which inevitably leads to a sinus infection or some other breathing related condition.
Now, if you could only train Mars to make chicken soup for you and bring you cold drinks and the remote control you'd be all set!
Anyways, i hope this is just a fleeting thing this time around for you, all my best wishes. And super W00T for the DVD! You guys deserve all the attention it's getting, we love ya! |

Sorry to hear you are sick... that sort of thing use to happen to me when I was in college... Right after exams and the start of the winter holidays I would get sick. Not very fun.
Hope you are feeling better soon though and that Chris doesn't cause to much damage. Maybe you could ask him when Jason is there to protect you? Or is he the sort that would cheerfully help in the quashing?

Not good that you're sick, though. :-p Fresh garlic and rosemary are great immune system builders, just crush some in a mug and pour about 6-8 ounces of boiling water or broth over it and let it steep covered for about 6 minutes. Those were the only kind of dog my son wasn't afraid of when he was little, probably because they were as close to the ground as he was.
