Any chance of Mars on Atlantis?

He is just so handsome. And if you get him to 'talk' with a Scottish lilt it will tide all us SCBs over until we get the real thing back for a visit.
In 1980 my mum arrived home with a little puppy for us. It was supposed to be a cross GSD/bull-dog and it turned out to be a GSD crossed with a bull-mastiff. Ever since then I have been a sucker for big dogs.
Alas I have two cats - Frankie and Merlin (a lady cat). Not true Scottish wild cats, but they are pretty wild and really lovable.nullAny chance of Mars on Atlantis? |

Hah! I'd told some of the other squirrels that I'd bet money Mars had some shepherd in him. And after seeing him live, I have to say, given his size, it makes sense that there's some terrier there, too. If it was just shepherd/rotty, he'd probably be bigger. |

I was just rereading Mars' arrival story and noticed you called him a "happy looking rotweiler/terrier/Sheppard mutt". Is that a little Atlantis shout out? The American and British Kennel Club spelling for the breed is "Shepherd". (Yes, I looked it up. I think I'm channeling McKay). |

I'm not really a dog person, but every time I see Mars I simply go 'awwwww', because he's so incredibly adorable. How can you deny him anything when he looks at you like he does on this photo??? Such a cutie, and he also had hidden talents, like being a great actor who's now on his way to superstar status!
This "dogster" thing is quite funny, I looked at it and it was great to read the story how you got Mars (or "how he chose you as his owner) again and with more details than before. I don't even want to think about what would have been lost if Mars had been put down. It seems your affection and care were the reasons for the miracle healing, and now he's making you and Jane and so many other people who see him in ADB happy. He gives and gets so much now, to think that this might never had happened, and might never happen to lots of other animals... It's so great that you helped saving one of them!
Oh, and "super model wobble" is simply hilarious!

Cool! Now that Mars is on Dogster, will fame go to his head? I don't think it can get much larger than in that photo! Has he gotten more demanding? Will he be appearing on the talk show circuit? Or does he take it all in stride, knowing that this is what was meant for him all along?
